Like hunting mushrooms people are very private and rightly so (about exceedingly rare and endangered things). If we were back in 1750 you could just go anywhere and have as much of whatever you want, but alas, tis no longer the case goodsir Ry.

I lived on the Outer Banks for awhile and you could find food so easily but none of the natives would ever tell temporary outsiders (like tourists) how easy it was to Flounder, Clam, Crab, Fish, etc.. because just a tiny bit of interest snowballs into destruction.

I want to inform everyone on her that the concerta shortage is what happens when these hordes of Adderall users are given help, they are insatiable (byproduct of how Adderall withdraw affects the user) they are massively taxing resources of everyone and now causing shortages for those who aren’t having issues.

Please share info via pm if you must - until the dea gets its act together we need to think strategically.

The DC sub hates this guy and blames him for the shitty state of the metro. They seem to feel the new head is turning that around but most seem to think Wiedefeld sucked at running it. Some said the problems were bigger than him, but they are a minority.

So I’m not really sure if this is good. But to be fair the DC sub is one of the most hysterical, over reacting and screaming ‘our leaders are failing us’ on every topic, city subs I visit so…

Just because “only” 15% of disabled people cycle (actually surprisingly high IMO) doesn’t mean 85% of disabled can’t use bike lanes. That’s a logical fallacy and is easily proven wrong. People in wheelchairs and mobility scooters etc use them all the time to get around. In fact that was a primary motivator for the Big Jump on Druid Hill Lake Dr. I’ve seen plenty of disabled people using Maryland Avenue also. But if you never bike, and only ever drive around sheltered in a car, you don’t notice these things. Also, you are trolling. It doesn’t mean your stupid arguments aren’t worth swatting aside and disproving so that others can learn from your stupidity.

When he was GM of WMATA, I would see Wiedefeld all the time on the MARC, commuting to DC from Penn Station. Always found it amusing that a Baltimore guy was running the DC Metro, and doing so via a commute on MARC at that. Humble guy with deep local ties apparently, so I know the city doing well actually means something to him. Conversed with him a couple times and he even got to telling me about how his grandfather, a sailor, founded St. Ann's Church at 22nd St & Greenmount Ave, after surviving a storm at sea where he pledged to work for God if God saved him.

That said, didn't see this pick coming, but agree that it leans good. With his background in airports and transit, I imagine that more multimodal investment will be prioritized at MDOT. It's a definite upgrade from Pete Rahn who was a highways guy that served as transportation secretary in Missouri and New Mexico, before Hogan brought him to Maryland.

MLK is a poster child for bad light synchronization. One usually has to be going 45+ to get more than one green light in sequence. On rare occasions, I have traveled north or south on MLK, usually a Sunday Morning, and passed through 4-6 lights. But most of the time it gives the side streets preference. Esp around Uni MD.

I’ve moved around that neighborhood pharmacy wise. I went from the cvs on falls, to the rotunda Walgreens, now at the 41st Walgreens, which btw is only open on weekdays, so that’s a potential challenge. I get specialty stuff from Ultracare, and they’re pretty good, parking lot is a challenge since it’s at that corner of falls and cold spring. I’m half considering the Walgreens on falls at like 38th or somewhere nearish to there, I’m not sure the cross street.

Sounds fun! My rule for trivia is the answers need to be at least mildly interesting, something you’d want to retell to a friend or at least go “neat!”, not just a recount of information. I hate trivia that’s like “who won the World Series in year x” but I would like a trivia question that was more like “who is the only team to win the World Series with a lefty pitcher?” (This is a made up question).

Yeah, for my trivia you're definitely welcome to bring a team of up to 8 ppl, and if it's a couple more occasionally then no worries. I want people to have a great time, and I honestly think that once you get above about 6 people it actually makes it harder to come to a decision on many of the answers, plus there's always at least one person with the dreaded "I said that!"
It needs to be a fun game, and obviously I immediately stomp out something cheating if I see it, but I'm not gonna stop your 2 friends who want to join (and push the team over the limit) on a night. It can still be a great and fair trivia without me being ridiculously rigid on rules. Check it out some time!
