I wrote this on Facebook that day: "Meteorologist called this the storm that just won't leave."

I quite remember it. The dog was NOT HAPPY.

Totally with you on - for some reason, I've always associated President's Day weekend with big snowfalls (if it's a year we get any snow at all).

Hey there! My partner and I bought in Bolton Hill this past year and have been absolutely loving it! We made the move from fed hill, where we had lived for a couple of years. Fed became way too crazy for us, and we've been loving the quietness of BH. We're in the area you've been looking in, and honestly we haven't had any issues. We frequent the liquor store nearby in the bottom of the Marlboro, and we frequently walk to on the Hill cafe. We also attend various community activities that have us out at night with no problems.

The worst thing I've personally seen in the area is a very obviously high guy who was just kind of talking to himself/things, saw a cat and made pspspsp noises at it to say hi and kept walking.

As a woman, you already know the dangers of being basically anywhere. IME I've had less issues with street harassment in Baltimore than the suburbs I lived in previously, so take that as you will. Just be smart.

Early 40’s queer here to agree. Also agree with another post above, for the most part Baltimore really doesn’t care. Everyone is busy worrying about themselves here.

Parking, which includes income from city-owned garages, parking meters, neighborhood parking permits and parking fines, typically brings in $6 million to $8 million per month.

That also doesn’t include the property and other general tax contributions (income, sales tax, etc.) of those drivers.

Fare box recovery rates for MTA in Baltimore is currently less than 13%, although that’s lower than normal (I think it was around 20-30% prior to coronavirus — and note that prior to 2017 there was a legally required 35% recovery ratio).

I put this out there because there are certainly very good ways to make the argument that you are making, but I don’t think you’re going to have much luck saying that non-drivers are subsidizing drivers. It’s simply not factually accurate.

I remember living in Pikesville when this happened. I was excited to put on my ski bibs and boots out of context. My dog was only 4 years old, and jumped through the drifts like a bunny or kid. Did I mention I had a Subaru Forester, snow tires, and a garage? Kinda the best? 😂

Ngl, I miss snow. Should probably just move.

My parents live on a little dead end street with only 6 other houses, and every time a plow passed it blocked their street in even more. They called me and begged me to bring smokes as soon as I was able to shovel out. I was standing on the side of Wilkins throwing cartons of cigarettes over a snow bank.

Baltimore City: Bad neighborhoods are just that, ppl there don't have picks so if something happened (assault/robbed/etc) it would be wrong place wrong time or you got lined up but super rarely to basically never have I heard of ppl being preyed on due to hatred towards gays. So pretty much pick a spot that fits your criteria and move there. Forget even worrying about any anti-gay sneers, people don't care. If you want to specifically be in a gay neighborhood than Mt. Vernon or any of the others suggested would be good. If not just pick a cool part of town you like and your good.

Baltimore County: Assuming very similar.

2010 was worse. Together two different storms dumped 50” 4 days apart.
