Thanks! My husband got a job in Hanover, but also goes up to Philly for work several times a month and the rent down here is getting nuts, so it's time to move!

We are paying over 3K in NOVA (it's crazy down here so that sounds great!) and grass is a plus, but even a courtyard or patio space would be great!

There are some great threads / resources linked in the “about” page to r/baltimore. Check those out. If you end up in 21217, feel free to DM. My wife and I moved up from DC and have a toddler. It’s a fun town for littles :)

If you want your own private grass yard, look at Hampden and Medfield. Grass is hard to come by in Fells, Canton, Fed and Locust Point but those places all have parks (as does Hampden). There are some other grassy yard neighborhoods that I’m sure people will suggest. Do you need convenient parking? Budget? A 3bed/2 bath will be over $2K, closer to 2.5K or more in Hampden proper for an updated rowhouse.

I took pottery classes at The Potter’s Guild and it was a great time—the only downside is you have to be quick to sign up when they have openings.
I also know some people that have done classes/workshops at Baltimore Clayworks, which has a wider variety of class lengths.

Even though I recommended this place in another post for a large gathering, I went here for business with a colleague from Lebanon and he was unimpressed. I don’t think it’s particularly bad but that’s my anecdote from a Lebanese person

If you’re willing to go out into the county, I highly recommend Villagio Cafe in Towson. It’s incredibly delicious Persian food

I paid about $75 for a single person 1-year membership while I was a nanny for a 2yo child (2019) and it was worth every penny because I went almost every Friday with the toddler because children under 3 are Free.

Baltimore Chef Shop is great! My wife got me a Korean Street Food class for my birthday in November and we loved it, so I got her a French Desserts one for xmas. Both were in person, would recommend.

I use Transit in DC, but only for subway and trains, I haven't looked at buses there since I only need it to get to and from work.

Unless something has changed, hard disagree with the takes on Byblos. The food is delicious, and the people who own it are the very sweetest people I’ve ever met. Really, they are absolutely wonderful.
