I've personally only seen this in areas like Remington or Hampden. But of course, I'm sure they're elsewhere and there's certainly not a monolith.

Hard disagree. While there's lots about the city that's good, there's no denying that there are some serious and systemic problems in the city and that its reputation is reflected by those problems in the media. Even if the hyperbole surrounding those problems doesn't match the nuance or complicated nature of them, you can't deny the reality that the perception of the city is lacking.

You can be offended all you want, but it doesn't invalidate a lot of the reasons people have left the city, nor their experiences in dealing with the city's problems at the ground level.

I do. I go to Katsucon in the National Harbor every year. I’m again in February. And OtaKon in DC in July. I just moved to Baltimore so you’ll see me at the Bmore Comic-Con as well.

There are many valid criticisms of Baltimore but this is such a smooth brained take.

No Land Beyond is super queer friendly across the board. Queer nights are pretty quiet but they did have a drag show last night.

The group that organizes it has a good mod but there was a clash about some antisemitism in that group (Queer Agenda)

I moved away from Baltimore in 2015, and then I don’t think I went back before they closed. That tracks.

Yes, after nights at the Ottobar or elsewhere, my friends and I would come here and order the Triple Play. It was either this place or the 7-11 at the time.

That a good or a bad thing?

Most people don’t like this city. Which is why it’s worded correctly.

Because of the “actually” - it suggests that most people wouldn’t like this city and portrays it negatively.

Hotel's already booked out but I'm sure there are still badges. The nice thing about these two is that you can just drive up there for a day. (Or take transit—the light rail lets off about a half mile from the hotel.)
