Does that mean that we, by the same token, are one retrovirus away from going back to egg-laying ?

I know this answer: It's far more prevalent in the sea than anywhere else, and diminishes in concentration as you move inland. Many inland regions, especially mountainous regions were traditionally so deficient in iodine that many people suffered from extreme deficiency.

Defintely every few hours for a cycle. Tylenol will dampen the ups and downs

Thank you for your answer. Kinda cool how isolated the thyroid is...yet how tightly controlled the process must be.

Thank you for your answer. I'll try to read that article soon. Thyroids are turning out to be really interesting biochemically!

Elemental iodine? In my thyroid?? Wow, that's really cool. Wikipedia said that the iodation of tyrosine by elemental iodine is a really streamlined process, indicating how T3 and T4 evolved.... Thank you for your answer!

Thank you for your response. I'll try to look over that article. The reactivity/antioxidant part is especially interesting.

Reply to If a human being is bleeding internally say in their mouth or stomach would they still have a risk of anemia? by Robbeee
GI tract, yes, the blood will mostly leave your body. Other “internal” bleeding (say, subcutaneous hematoma from trauma to a blood vessel), you can become anemic but the iron is mostly reabsorbed, so you will not be iron deficient.

How long does a fever cycle typically last? Are we talking like every 15 minutes, or every few hours?

I don’t have anything to add to this. But wow. I hope to be as knowledgeable in a topic as you are one day. Very well put (granted I don’t really understand a lot of the technical terms). But yea man, keep it up!

Reply to comment by Patsastus in Was reading something related to Rock Salt mining. In places like the Himalayas where rock salt mining is done in cold temperatures, a lot of miners report burns. Why is it so that salt burns in a colder surroundings? Would it be the same reason why the salt ice challenge was so dangerous? by vvdmoneymuttornot
Temperatures are relative. There are many places on this planet where water in its molten state is very rare at times.

Should be noted that anemia of chronic disease is separate from chronic blood loss anemia, although IBD can cause both. Anemia of chronic disease is a result of chronic inflammation decreasing your body’s synthesis of RBCs, while blood loss anemia like that seen in chronic bleeding is a result of losing blood

Why not use a big ol' peptide like insulin ? In any case, that's an interesting observation -- you gotta make your metabolic signaling unambiguous.
