Can we just start a seperate- "I'm moving to Worcester.....?" pinned thread? I've seen 5 of these posts today, which is fine- but maybe a question and information thread might help a lot of people with questions. We can have a different neighborhood thread's on each- etc. We can contribute info to it etc...

I posted an ad for my duplex one bedroom for rent and got torn up too. Rents have not just gone up in the past ten years, the past two years they’ve almost doubled. Sorry guys! 850 a room in a nice place isn’t really that bad.

Elm Street is a fine street. A little to the south towards Chandler gets kinda sketch, but even then it’s not terrible. Highland St is really nice. Lots of good bars and food joints. Plus WPI is right there, so good security with the student presence.

32 year old professional married male. Liberal. My wife and I love it here. Yes, it gets cold. Yes, there’s a lot of snow. If you’re renting snow removal doesn’t matter. My wife isn’t from here and she enjoys the city. Lots of good jobs, great sports scene, and plenty of culture.

As a current MCPHS student, and as someone who lives on campus, I think you may want to reconsider having your car if possible. I know my program (DPT) encourages us to have a car for clinicals, and not much is within walking distance

I work at a dialysis clinic close to the campus. I mean you cant really walk to a grocery store but if you’re cooking for 1 you can at least instacart or something cheaper than many. I live in Holden but I don’t drive at all. My husband brings me into Worcester and I get around w walking and Uber just fine. I’m from New Orleans and Worcester has an insane amount of snow. But the city does a good job with it.
