Sol of Mexico is my favorite in the city; they make their own tortillas and everything. Weird hours though, and it's very small inside if you weren't thinking takeout.
I also recommend Tacos Caliente, which has the best birria around.

Joyful Garden in Watertown, Ma. Still not Worcester but closer than Chinatown in Boston.

Still a hike and not as good as the din sum you’ll find in boston, if I find myself in Lowell I’ll go to the dumpling place they have there

I'm not in the neighborhood, across the lake. And if they don't look approachable then by no means. I wonder if they too got anxious about the dog.

Taco Calient on Chandler. By far the most authentic in the city.

Not in Worcester, but if you find yourself up around Clinton, Taqueria El Amigo 3 is my favorite in the area. In town, favorite is probably Taqueria del Pueblo. But now I'm gonna have to check out The Taco Spot as others are mentioning.

El Patron is certifiable.
However, still haven't had anything in Worcester that matches Boca Grande in Brookline/Boston

We don't really, sadly! I wish we did, since my wife is Chinese and loves dim sum, but you really have to head into Boston for the real deal. Someone should open one though, could be a real niche, since this question comes up somewhat frequently

Tacos Mexico on Park Ave / Auburn Mall
The Taco Spot
Taquiera del Pueblo

All of these have been mentioned but I want to vouch for them all.

Check out David F's review. The website is still up and taking money though, but the building is closed.

Oh, I feel so bad for the dog across the street! She's gotten WAY more reactive since she has to listen to the other German shepherd bark all day. It's tough because I have a little terrier mix puppy who was recently attacked on Tower by a chocolate lab, (be careful on Tower FYI) and we live on Proctor too, so we go past the shepherds every day on walks. It's gotten to the point where my dog will cower and sniff the air every time we get to the corner, and I have to watch like a hawk to make sure that the dog isn't loose

I've been there when I lived in Lowell. But seems like once you go west of framingham, dim sum becomes a myth you must quest for.🤣

Main Tacos on main is pretty good and there is a place next to the old leciester drive in that isn't bad, but I forget the name.

Not really helpful but China Star in Lowell is good if you want to avoid the city. Still a drive

I might be wrong, but I think you’re going to have to cook it yourself or head to Chinatown in Boston.

Hijacking the thread to see if anyone knows where I can find a bean donut--I can't justify a drive to Boston for a donut!
