Mate - thank you so much. This is superrrrr helpful. Trying to find a location to live in a place you haven’t even been to is stressful so I appreciate the advice.

When people say crime it’s kind of misleading. Worcester is really safe given its size.

Like others have said you want to avoid the south Main Street area (main south) for crime, bad parking options etc, and honestly anywhere closer to the interior of the city like Vernon hill, Grafton Hill, Belmont or Lincoln street. They’re definitely not anywhere near as bad crime wise as the rough parts of other cities like NYC, LA or San Francisco but if you have the budget and options I’d choose elsewhere. West side (west of Park Ave) near Worcester State University is pretty good, also Burncoat street area or places on the east side close to Lake Quinsigamond. The new apartments downtown at 145 Front street are nice and have all their own a accommodations like a parking garage but super expensive. Another good option would be looking into apartments in surrounding towns if you want a more suburban setting close to the city - places like Leicester, Holden, West Boylston, or Millbury. Shrewsbury is good too but the further east you go in that direction the rent prices increase dramatically.

Lovely. Thanks mate. So essential the area more north of the city and even into Holden and West Boylston?

If you're looking for a quiet suburban feel you're going to want to rent West of Park Avenue. I'd stay off the middle and main south neighborhoods due to population density and street parking.

If you’re renting, try to find a place with off street parking. Parking on the street sucks in the winter and there’s a seasonal parking ban between certain hours on some streets even if there’s no snow.

Ya thinking about it you don't have the leafs on the trees blocking some of the sound. It also seems like around the same times. Assuming it's someone going to and from work maybe.

It does feel like those have made a resurgence...maybe cold weather let's the sound carry further or something too..

Not toooo far but McGoverns on West Boylston St. has always been great. Just bring the cans to the window and they do all the work.

Totally get that. It’s all relative. I lived in Albuquerque for 8 years and you’d think the cartel runs it the way people talk about it.
