I’m not against better public transportation systems and I think they would help. But I also think that is a completely different conversation from the OP. Better transportation is a passive way to tackle the issue by making it easier to go get drunk somewhere besides home.Lowering the blood alcohol limit is a direct way to tackle the issue by lowering the allowed threshold creating more direct consequences. I know people who got DUIs because they only had one or two drinks and thought they were under the limit. If the limit is more difficult to stay under then less people will try and more people will be held accountable when caught
Kind of like how no one should commit murder so we make it illegal with no wiggle room to create direct consequences. People are more likely to do the right thing when there are direct consequences and not just more access to make the right decision.

Reply to Pulled over in Yakima. First ever ticket: no seatbelt, car without insurance, expired tabs. What do? by GoodLittleTerrorist
You have two options:
Pay the ticket or hire a lawyer.
If you don't have the funds for a ticket? Why the hell are you driving a scenario where you're basically setting up your self for one?
I can't tell you how many people I know that have been hit by uninsured motorists. You're gambling your entire fortune by doing this. Insurance at least protects your belongings at the physical level. They must legally go after insurance before they can take away your physical belongings and any savings.

Reply to Cost of Land Clearing by intrepidated
These days it can be just as expensive to buy an already built house compared to clearing the land, prepping it for building then build. We looked into the cost of clearing a land and dumping a manufactured home on it. More expensive than just buying a new already built house.
If it is your dream location then by all means do it! In decades gone by it use to be cheaper but now it's not.

I had only visited California a handful of times before moving to the west coast. I don't remember it being nearly as dry as it is now...it was a bit depressing when I visited for the first time in a while.

I don’t disagree with you that no one should drive drunk, I just think if we can do stuff that makes people less likely to make stupid decisions then we should. Kind of like how no one should steal your stuff, there’s no excuse, but you can make it less likely to happen by locking your stuff up.

Yeah, that is way too much in my opinion. Maybe if it was in Seattle where trucking is so expensive but rural Snohomish that seems really high. A quick google search of “Snohomish land clearing” brings up some possible leads, if that doesn’t lead to anything I’d reach out to sawmills, arborists and heavy equipment operators in the area to see if they have suggestions.

We're western - rural SnoCo. Lot is very accessible, as the area to clear is the property edge right along a road. It's all flat terrain.

All jokes aside get three bids then you'll have a better understanding. To many variables to say yea it should be this much with not much information and pictures of the land your inquiring about.

Look at the trash downvoting you. A downvote is an admission to racism because that is all this is. Breaking equality to virtue signal=racism. Ignorant fucks
