Your location is going to drastically affect the price you pay for land clearing. What part of the state are you in? How accessible is the lot? What’s the terrain of the lot like? I agree that your bid sounds high but not knowing any details makes it impossible to know. I would suspect, as you do, that there are people that would do it for a lot less.

I5 in WA is about 275 miles long, but I'm guessing you're looking at Seattle or Tacoma. If public transportation is available, look at it. Spending that time reading or sleeping isn't horrible.

WSDOT has a good website and tons of information about whatever projects are going on. They're also pretty responsive on Twitter and Facebook, but you have to do some reading work first, they get zillions of "how do I make my life better" posts, but they tend to answer specific questions.

A lot of things bother me in terms of the government lacking but regardless of that I think drunk driving is not excusable. This whole thread is people talking about how public transportation is the reason people drive drunk but I think it’s lack of education. Only stupid people drink and drive :)

From the Boston area, have been living in western washington for 3.5 years. Prefer Washington for the weather for sure, people are friendlier. Boston has much better food, can't compare seafood because it's not even close.. New England has the best seafood hands down. Washington has much better landscape. Overall I have 0 desire to go back to Boston. I much prefer west coast living.

North Cascades NP, Olympic NP, Mount Rainer, the Columbia River, the Palouse, the Nisqually wildlife refuge, Cycling on the San Juan islands, the tulips in the Skagit Valley, the rhododendrons that bloom in my yard, skiing at Mission Ridge, and the low key western people. I left out cross country skiing in Winthrop/Mazama. Also up there the chance for profoundly dark skies and the profound quiet!

Excellent movie. I highly recommend checking it out. And then watching "Have a Good Trip" which is a terrific documentary asking famous people about their experiences with psychedelics.

For Fantastic Fungi I love how they talk in depth about mycelium and it isn't until the tail end of the movie that they bring up the positive uses for psilocybin. Draw in all the nay sayers with other scientific facts linked to fungus. And then hit em with the dirty truth they don't want to hear.
