I grew up in MA and left for WA at 19. I've lived in WA for 7 years, before moving back to MA over the summer of 2022. I left very shortly after to navigate my way back to the PNW. You can't beat the access you have to the mountains, the ocean, the rainforest, all the national parks. To me its the only place that's ever felt like home-- its not claustrophobic like Massachusetts out here, sometimes, it feels like driving along the coast, or through the Cascades up north or even along the Columbia Gorge on the Western side of the state, that the sky will go on forever, and you'll never run out of room to breathe. I dig the city vibes of Tacoma and Seattle, I love how accessible other gloriously beautiful parts of the west coast are. A 2 day drive to the Redwoods, A 2ish day drive to Glacier NP in Montana, 2 days to Moab, UT.

I'm also wildly into overlanding and 4x4 adventuring and you don't get that out on the east coast.

Also-- no state income tax or vehicle inspection process is a godsend.

However-- I desperately miss good Chinese food and diner food lol.

Sounds like you knew you were playing Russian roulette then. This was a decision, not a lack of information… you finally got caught. And now you want?? Everyone is hard on you because you are expressing a desire to find a way out of a situation you created knowingly. Sorry mate , that’s not how this works.

Aww, nice. Thanks.

My grandfather wasn't a huge boater, but he did like to swim (in the Sound sometimes).

The grandparents got a vacation home up on Whidbey, and got a small rowboat. They called it the Alphar, with the idea being the second boat would be based on Beta, and so on through the Greek alphabet. Well they never got past the first boat, and it's being used as a planter up at the old cabin.

I'm a native Californian but moved to WA almost 18 years ago. I'm in the greater Seattle Area, close to the Cascades. I have not been to MA, but have spent time on the East Coast and had inlaws from NY, so I was in that state at different times of the year and lived in VA for four months during the late spring/summer.

I would choose WA or anywhere on the West Coast over the East Coast. The cold and the humidity are huge NO's. I can't eat seafood so that doesn't matter to me for either location. And for the most part, I prefer people from the Western half of the US.

Now, as far as WA goes, it also depends on what part, Eastern or Western. But depending on what kind of weather you prefer, you'll be able to find it in WA.

not from MA but from another northeast state. One thing I miss about being on the east coast is proximity to other big cities. Climate-wise I am totally ok with the rain and cloud. And I love all the snowcapped mountains and lakes.

The month always stays the same. The year sticker will be the only one to come at renewal. You need to renew before the end of your month sticker. And you can easily do this online. Mine came in like 3 days very quick! Other offices may vary in time it takes to process. Obviously both need to be displayed (on the back plate yep) and it’s clearly defined which goes where… yet people still don’t do it right, by choice or just plain dumb.
