There's a somewhat okay bus line. It doesn't come within 2 miles of my house, though, and it only covers about half the city. You absolutely need a car to survive here

Just make drinking alcohol illegal. It's killed more people than cigarettes.

They really need to crack down on drivers doing 12+ over the speed limit.
They really need to crack down on the reckless drivers zipping between cars only to save 30 seconds in the long run...
These people are the ones really causing all the accidents.

I agree too many drunk people out there. I came across one a few days ago.
What for most people that would probably limit them to 1-2 drinks? Depending upon body weight and height. I'm talking about a standard sized not over weight 5'-6' individual.
In high school I lost about 10 of my graduating class to drunk driving. They decided to get hammered after graduation and got so drunk they ... Let's just say none of them lived. I still miss some of these people today. Don't believe me I will scan my high school yr book and create a post. I ain't lying. Because I was a good friend with one of these individuals.

Or no one should be out on the road with alcohol in their system.

5400 years ago that view would have looked like Mt St Helens does today. A big hollowed out amphitheater.

i am truly just incapable of reading the legal jargon in this bill, so if you have knowledge of it’s contents already, i’d love a summarization!! 😂

i am also pro psilocybin! without reading the bill, Im just curious what is your opposition? Colorado decriminalized, and is on the path to legalization, but it was for out of state profits lead by private investors, which is one reason I would’ve voted against their bill.

Or do they just need to make more money on DUI's?

>Please help the people get the mental health assistance they desperately need. Both the beautiful state of Washington and the entire country alike are dedicating unprecedented resources to solve problems like homelessness, opioid addiction, and gun violence. Yet year over year, we only hear the statistics going up. At some point, we need to step back and look for a true underlying cause rather than throw money and people at the symptoms. The real cancer killing our great cities from within is a mental health crisis that pushes people towards homelessness, drugs, and violence.

>It's time for a change, and you have the power in your hands to help make it happen. Will you be the catalyst for a brighter future for our state? The ongoing criminalization of psychedelic medicines is an affront to Washingtonian values. Personal liberty on both spiritual and recreational endeavors must be preserved in the spirit of frontier adventurism. Remember: no victim, no crime

Are there really that many people in the .05-.079 range that are causing accidents?
snowmaninheat t1_j406omf wrote
I had some colleagues back in the day who did transportation research, and there’s a lot of good evidence to suggest 0.05 is a more appropriate threshold. That said, I’m anticipating a lot of pushback here.
Edit: check that time stamp.

I did this and it ruined me for a couple years lol. Kept having flashbacks and disassociation issues. Never had any anxiety or panic attacks before that one trip
I’m all for this being legal and used as medicine but results will vary. That place (you know the one) can be wonderful but it can also be a hellscape

I like the Queets a little better. Not as visited. Ford the river and hike thru old growth up to the big stump

Vashon is beautiful. The islands are truly amazing. Lummi, Bainbridge, Whidbey, Lopez, Orcas… there are more of course and they are all magical places. I grew up riding ferries. I ended up commuting 5 days a week on them for almost 8 years. The sunset or sunrise boats are my favorite. I recommend it to people visiting. Especially because many states don’t have ferry systems like this.

Have you ever been poor in a car dependent area? It’s not always that simple.

Ive been there. Pay the ticket before anything else. Unpaid tickets can fuck you up. Then I guess hope you don’t get pulled over again before you can register. Or don’t drive. How’s the transit in Yakima?
