A family traveling through in a full size bus was wrongly labeled antifa by a gun shop owner in Sequim (who had caused problems before). He called some of his “patriot” friends to come forward and “defend what’s theirs” on Facebook/through calling. So when the poor family got to Forks, they were chased, harassed and threatened by racist idiots. Teens stepped in to help them get away. It was a big deal (rightfully so) and we have all been labeled as racists/sun downers since. Not to say there isn’t any racists in town, but a vast majority of us aren’t, and were very upset when that happened.

There are no issues...they've lived in it for years.
It's fully finished with working plumbing a separate electrical panel HVAC gas and all that's separate from the main house.
It's on them for sure ... I just feel bad and I'm trying to find information to help them

Olympia is like 48,000 people alone. It's also joined to Lacey (another 50k or so) and Tumwater (another 25k) so that definitely surpasses the 30,000 limit.

Motorcycles just make more sense if you're traveling alone. They get at least twice the gas mileage of the average commuter car.

They may have a hard time selling it if their illegal construction gets pinged by the building inspector. (Never buy a house without a formal inspection folks!) They may be liable if their illegal construction causes problems (such as electrical or plumbing).
That being said, and I mean this in the kindest way, this is on them - not you.

If they broke the law, they may have to pay a fine or may even be required to rip out the illegal construction.
Did your relatives actually turn a "crawl space" into an "apartment"?

I'm guessing motorcycle is a loose term. Lots of electric bikes and scooters, a few on road dirtbikes

It’s sad that some people ruined the reputation of everyone else who lives here. What happened to that family was wrong.

I apologize if any have switched product lines. With the new year I know some people have had to make changes in their menu. I hope you get something tasty!

I was also thinking light rail to ferry would be the most pleasant and least stressful way. It’s kind of nice going from the airport into Seattle and riding a ferry is fun

Coming from Baltimore as my home city I laugh at the “not safe” idea. That’s why I moved to Seattle to get my city living time in!
The ferry system out here is so cool. Me and fiancé love hopping a ferry and walking/skating/biking around the city. Yes they can be a bit kurfunkled sometimes, but there’s nothing better than a ferry adventure.
Best of luck to you on your quest!

Counties will often freeze any future permits until you bring the property up to code. They may also have fines, and/or could force you to bring the property up to code if they have strict code enforcement.
In the future, they will be rather restricted if they wanted to sell the home, as lenders will often not lend on a property that has unpermitted modifications or renovations. That means cash only sales, it could also create a variety of issues with home inspectors (if the home was on market) and potential buyers.
Nobody is going to come look at the home out of the blue, however, it potentially could cause issues for future remodels, resale, and renovations.
