Eh, we don’t have to deal with spiders, snakes or roaches…not usually anyway. I’ll take the rain and 2 months of warm weather.

Supply and demand and commute times. There are other places to live if the weather makes you miserable. Different strokes for different folks.

There's Colonial Creek Campground on the shores of Diablo Lake. We've stayed there a few times (and we consider it a "fancier" campground since it has water spigots and flush toilets; we usually camp where there's only vault toilets and we have to pack in our own water). Also around an hour east of Diablo Lake and on the other side of the pass is Winthrop, a cute Western themed town.

I car camped at the Maple Pass trailhead, there is parking and some camping spots that don’t need reservations. Not long of a drive to see Diablo Lake.

New-ish to the state and want to do get to Diablo Lake this summer. Any tips or must-see spots or towns? I'd like to car camp if possible

We always stop at that Rest Area. It is stunning in person.

Thanks, I didn't know that Indian heaven was volcanoes! It's a steep hike up to the plateau and then its fairly flat. A very cool natural area with many lakes and ponds.

Right? Maybe they’re trying to build a timeline of events and they want to make sure there are as few gaps in it as possible for the defense to use to cast doubt on it.
It’s funny that they said “DO YOUR JOB” when this might actually be an example of the authorities doing a very thorough job.

I wouldn’t disagree with this, but I also wouldn’t categorize it as “passing through”.
