"Why won't the Dems just compromise with the people trying to roll back protections for the environment and vulnerable people??"
Have you considered that it's not quite equal?

Yeah, no shit. We all know why it’s illegal. We all know the benefits because we’ve been able to gauge that for ourselves illegally since all of us began using it. We know the risks too - and those typically are outweighed by the benefits for most of us. I’m sick of inaction when it comes to marijuana, especially in the Deep South. Looking at you, federal government. You can legalize it and benefit massively from the money generated through taxes, or I’ll just keep taking my money to the friendly guy down the road.

Basically:
A woman divorces her husband.
Her husband is a multi-millionaire who owns a football (soccer) team in the UK. The woman gets to keep the team as part of the divorce settlement and since it's the one thing he truly loved, decides to destroy it.
To do so she hires a new Head Coach, Ted Lasso, who's a small time Football (as in American Football) coach from the US who has absolutely no clue about how Soccer works.
But it turns out he's basically like all the feel good coaches you see in movies. He's very good at his job and is super likeable.
The show in general is just really funny and very feel-good.
Ted is just stupidly lovable.

Yes, that's because they're seen as partners/companions here not tools.
The culture around dogs in the US is very different from MANY parts of the world, especially places that have large populations of street dogs or dogs who fill their natural role as a scavenger on the fringes. It's super interesting to study.

I recently watched Season 1 and can't think of any other show that's made me feel like that one did.
I was mostly grinning the entire time, it's such a feel good show.

Shocking.
I also hear that water quenches fire, and relying on nonrenewable resources is fucking stupid and shortsighted!

No disrespect to your wife, but this isn't my first chronic pain condition and it's honestly a relief after shoveling through my mental shit. This, at least, has a possible lab diagnostic and straightforward, if uncomfortable, treatment options. The real champ is my mom who pulled off full time teaching as well as 90% of the housework while diagnosed and unmedicated. We've got some things to work out, but that is an objectively difficult achievement.

Legality doesn't mean it has wide support amongst all the population. There is a lot of money involved in it and it's mostly fueled by certain families and wealthy conservative people.
Most people under 40 or 50 are not supporting it. Many don't care, but it is not as widely supported as it was 30 or 40 years ago.

Just fucking legalize it everywhere. Medical AND recreational. Enough of being hamstrung by moronic, century-old policies.

Young people in small towns or young people going to encierros like all the foreign tourists do?
Because a lot of tourists aren't aware of what they are supporting.

I have to make an appointment, but I have to get through stuff like taxes first. This happens maybe once a month, I'm just extra salty about it today.

Editing to make a distinction between whatever the duck is going on in Spain and the way hunting dogs are treated in Texas: A good hunting dog takes years to train. It’s all about building a working relationship with the dog, and the dogs fucking LOVE hunting. Not to say there aren’t horrible people in the world that abuse dogs, but that’s not hunting, that’s animal abuse. To equate that with hunting is disingenuous at best. A good bird dog, for example, is trained to run around in a field with a bell on its collar and smell out birds. When it finds the birds, it stops and stands at attention, pointing, and waits for command. The hunter approaches and commands the dog to go in and flush the birds up. The bird flies up, the hunter shoots, the dog then collects the bird and brings it back to the hunter. Usually the dog is rewarded with the tasty entrails, feet and head of the bird, and they’re very happy dogs. They get to run around with their people, do rewarding work, and get tasty bird treats.

Little wonder there is such resistance to cannabis legalization, it costs profiteering drug companies their blood money.

I wonder if insurance companies would profit more from covering medical cannabis over opiates, since cannabis is relatively cheap to produce. Like I wonder if they made the same type of deals with cannabis producers as they do with pharma companies, how their profits would change

That was the point. I’ll get hammered for it but neither side really wants to fix the wedge issues because what scare tactics would they run on? When one party has the majority they find some heel to vote against it. Republicans did the same with “repeal and replace”.
