Not everyone is evil. Not really peace when you have messed up country's alliance

We create the problems, so we can make solutions.

That just turns it back into co2.

I agree that we need change, but we need to be realistic. I care about the environment and I'm willing to make changes, but I just know that a lot of people are not, and while we educate people (I'm against increasing prices/banning/restrictions whatsoever) we need technologies to get us through to the other side alive.

I think you're right. However, if all of this sodium bicarbonate is being released in concentrated areas, it causes problems of over-alkalization in those areas.
Better if it could be done in a distributed way, with many, smaller units doing this CO2 conversion but spread out over the entire ocean.

Could be wrong but isn't it a problem that the worlds oceans are at risk of becoming acidic and that an alkaline solution could balance it out?

I'd be worried about the higher ph and alkalinity of the immediate area where the baking soda is being released. If this were scaled in a way to be meaningful, that's a lot of alkaline substance to disperse in one area.
Perhaps the facility could be placed near a continental shelf so that dispersion could be done into much deeper water nearby.

Amazing what we, the human race, can do when great minds come together. Just a shame that it’s always in a time where things seem pretty dire and never before things get bad.
Does that make sense? 😅

Why not release it into cookies or pancakes instead?

I think that investing into these things is great but they're not permanent. They're time savers, the only way to reverse our impact is to change how we live. Buy less things, drive less, and work on policy that forces big businesses to do the same. Especially when it comes to our energy.
