That's great for flooding, but SoCal needs to figure out a practical way to retain a lot more of that water instead of dumping it into the ocean.

My ex-girlfriend wound up stabbing her new boyfriend two weeks after they got together.
Damn, you really dodged a bullet there.

Tbh though, it’s good for all countries to not have a massive war in the Middle East that would likely be sponsored by opposing sides like the US and Russia, could drag on for a decade, and would cause gas and energy prices to double

I’d love to. My master’s degree concentration was in climate change, and I focused a good bit on that while I taught GIS labs to undergrads. I’m really terrible at finding job opportunities that fit.

That’s like saying murder is illegal but people still kill each other, we need new anti murder laws. They can write all the laws they want, there’s not a single group on earth that can hold the US accountable. Any group that could would not want to because then the same would happen to them.

Welcome to r/upliftingnews. Its loaded with feel good stories that shouldn’t have been stories in the first place in an allegedly civilized society

There needs to be new laws within the USA to make sure this doesn't happen again. International laws would be nice as well to at least add pressure. Both would be best.

I’m pretty sure there’s are laws in place but who’s going to enforce laws against the US government when they don’t want to answer for what they are doing.

My grandpa was born 2 years after the titanic sunk and I’m only 25, he waited until he was in his 40s to have kids and my mom had me in her 40s, I have pictures from him that he took while stationed in Normandy after D-Day, it is very shocking to a lot of people when I tell them that, only 2 generations of that side of my family in the last century, if I’m lucky and live as long as he did I’ll make it to 2091 and then that 2 generations will have almost stretched out to 2 centuries, about 23 years short of 2 centuries, but 2 decades short of 2 centuries in only 2 generations won’t be that bad right.
Edit: Telling this reminded me of one of the photos he took of an elderly couple in front of a destroyed house, it said something like Mr. And Mrs. Family name they gave me food, no idea who that French elderly couple was but their kindness meant enough to my grandpa to show a picture of them to his grandson 60 years later

Depending were you live El niño could mean record heat waves so I don't know if this is uplifting or not. Back around 2016 it was really hot were I live with el niño so I'm not really looking forward to more hot weather.

Soil in most of the West is saturated above average due to a wet summer and fall.
