Because they should have started with the hardest part and gotten more bogged down?

My sister fell asleep at the neighbor’s house once. Ran all around outside looking for her until neighbor was like, oh yeah she came over and fell asleep!

Failing to recognize how transit induces demand is pretty common, just look at any highway expansion "to reduce congestion" always leads to congestion occurring again in a few years due to inducement.

I would love to give people a raise. I'm not allowed to. People have abused "merit raises" in the past, so now no one gets one. I'm not asking people to work 90% of their life. How about just 20hrs/wk?
I'm a millennial, not that it should really matter. While my personal experience is absolutely anecdotal, we did nothing special. I didn't have family get me a job/car/house. I applied for and secured a part time job, and showed up every day.
There are absolutely struggles out there. But they aren't insurmountable.

Sometime ago I read an interesting to me article. It stated the Federal government was counting 1 person working 1 year as a job for certain legislation, laws and projects. This is a rare way to count jobs, but not unheard of.
For example, 1 person working for 2 years would count as 2 jobs. So the project created 2 jobs over 2 years.
It explains these amazing "jobs created" numbers I have seen for certain legislation.

This is what happened to my dads younger twin brothers. Went missing when they were around 5 I think. Whole town was out looking for them for hours. Found them eventually hiding in fear under the neighbours deck.

Napa has been waiting for BART to get there since the 1950s. Brentwood finally got their line in 5 years ago….with outdated diesel technology and a rail not compatible with the electric line the rest of the BART system uses, so entirely different trains have to be used for this newer 10 mile stretch. Not what was promised.
So yes, when people see a shitshow they will call it.
Stardustchaser t1_ja0419p wrote
California has been working on this for 15+ years and it’s in development hell. For many this project is just a money pit and not a job creator. Would love to see otherwise but not holding my breath on it.
Meanwhile Napa is still waiting for BART to reach it as promised in the 1950s….

No. I live in a vehicle. Employment has never been a problem. I don't have any substance issues. Ive never been convicted of anything, ive technically been arrested a few times, is part of the life, in the wrong place a lot of the time but my point is no criminal history either. I had a medical issue cost me my job and i had no safety net of any kind. There was a window where i couldve made good use of assistance but that window is closed. I am trying to be a normal housed person as I now have a niece and I have an opportunity to be a good uncle. Basically, a goal. I do not wish to impose my situation on my brother, he has tried to help and i dont want my nieces early memories of me to be me crying in their guest room. Its been many years since ive slept inside anywhere. It is difficult to explain, and i realize it is irrational and safer than my current situation. But i cant relax, i end up finding myself in a defensive stance, covering my face, random adrenaline, terrified of nothing, its quite sad. I am struggling to adjust, and finding a month to month rental situation every other year only to continue sleeping in a vehicle and hanging outside all the time is both financially draining and a bit heartbreaking. I believe I need therapy but have been failed by the low access medical system as my efforts have been counterproductive to say the least. It's been too long, the man I was is dead and the man I have become is still strange to me.

Technically our parents owe us everything and we as children should never have to work. Wasn’t our choice to be in this world. However that’s not how life works

Asking for more money and instead of giving them a raise you decide to make them work more hours.
Our lives shouldn’t be about working 90% of our lifetime.
And using your experience to compare many millions of others who don’t have those outcomes is gross.
You sound like a young boomer or an older GenX who were both raised saying that hard work leads to so and so l. Overall it is simply not true, or else the most hard working people wouldn’t be struggling in life
