Good, they should be able to build as high as they want. The market incentivizes housing that has parking so they would only be hurting the value of their own property by not building sufficient parking for their residents. The alternative is nothing but expensive SFHs for everyone to bid up.

Reply to comment by watduhdamhell in Russian President Vladimir Putin unwittingly accelerated the European Union’s green transition with his war in Ukraine, with the 27-nation bloc reducing its dependency on Russian fossil fuels and increasing its renewable energy use over the past year, the EU’s climate czar said Tuesday. by MrGuttFeeling
This is absolutely right. The fossil fuel industry has done an amazing job at holding back the development of nuclear. In countries like Australia, which have some of the largest per Capita carbon emissions, and who coincidentally have the world's third largest coal reserves, have a moratorium on nuclear energy. It's never been properly explained why. And now fossil fuel is back with a vengeance - all because of the Ukraine war. After decades of being on the back foot, it's now being embraced again. And no one in Europe is talking about emission targets. Oil and gas company profits are at an all time high. Security and war is the only thing that matters. If I was a powerful fossil fuel executive I would probably think it's a good investment to align myself with the military industrial complex to push for a prolonged war in Ukraine.
It's interesting, if you look at the Western oil companies that were operating in Russia (Chevron, BP, Exxon, Equinor etc) and profiting from the corrupt Russian State, you might think they financially suffered due to the war and sanctions. The exact opposite. Profits have never been higher because they took out their main competition.

Never said she was hurting anyone, I was worried she was hurting herself. She already said her first thought was to kill herself so she could be with him. What happens if she gets one of those "signs" that she should do exactly that?
This is why I keep suggesting seeing a psychologist, we are not professionals, pretending we know what is best for her beyond that is insane.

Too bad they can't build higher.

Jesus fucking Christ. Tell me who she's hurting by believing in an afterlife. I know if my husband dies before me I'd rather fucking kill myself than live in a world without any trace of him.

They literally could give these to the migrants and slaves they used to build the World Cup. Instead they just gave them to another country cause they are Muslims. You see they didn’t give them to Palestinians ?

Yeah. There was a Japanese company who sold some product (like a a snack food item, can’t recall exactly) and they made a commercial apologizing for having to raise the price from like 1.99 to 2.49…they hadn’t raised the price in 30 years. They were genuine about apologizing, entire staff was in the commercial apologizing. Love the pride involved.

They literally giving away the homes of the migrants who came to work and build for the World Cup. They just swapping out homeless and poor for homeless in another country who just happen to be Muslim so they matter more

So you can put a high rise in the middle of houses? This is not good urban planning.

Similar story here. Our plane hit some turbulence on descent which so startled me that I accidentally inhaled when I meant to blow to clear my ears. Suddenly I couldn’t breathe and before I knew what happened I woke up awkwardly slumped into the aisle with my head buzzing and the sounds slowly coming into focus like when you surface after being underwater and the last thing I remembered felt like a dream. The flight attendant told me the person in the seat behind me heard the noises I was making and instinctively reached around and gave me the Heimlich maneuver at which point the gum I’d been chewing shot out of my throat like a cannonball across the cabin. Everyone was so focused on helping me that they lost track of the projectile but they assured me it was not a problem and the cleaning crew would find it when they came through. Apparently not, since that’s what you found stuck to your shoe. Sorry about that. They get an A+ for crisis response though.

That’s the words of someone who believes in an afterlife for their loved one, and is still grieving in their own way. Sure, it doesn’t make sense when you take something like religion or belief in an afterlife out of it, but that’s what a belief is. She’s not hurting anyone over it, and it seems to give her relief to look for things to remind her of him

The cities in the Tri-valley have their plans in and there's some onus on the authority for them to be reviewed and give the feedback which apparently hasn't been done. Dublin would be the one that would surprise me if they had a problem. They're one of the fastest growing cities in California and have built a lot of housing in the past ten years. I can't say I love what Dublin has become but they've done the building.

And they're not going to be built by developers due to cost and lack of margin for those groups. You can zone all you want but it the numbers don't work it won't be done privately without a subsidy.

I like positive stereotypes. The Maori people seem dope as fuck in a way I don't see in other cultures. Casketeers on Netflix is a masterpiece, it's a wholesome, emotional reality show of a dude and his family who run a funeral parlor there. So funny, so beautiful
