That was my thought. I don’t disagree with keeping the sub clean from this kind of comment (my comment).
But if we’re talking cynicism, I think the post itself was the cynical part.

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

All of the people in here putting a negative spin on this would be condemning Qatar if they just lit them all on fire.
"The earthquake victims could of used them!"

You know. Theyre probably just thinking of the best way to dispose it. Still a good move though.

Is there any country worthy of praise then?

didn't say i disagreed with him, in fact i totally agree- its just that reddit has been bombarded with some absolutely depressing and cynical news stories lately and this is one of the few corners of the site i feel like people can visit to get a reprieve and believe for 5 minutes that theres still some good in the world
edit: if you're going to downvote me, check the sub rules- "This subreddit is meant to be a place free of excessive cynicism, negativity and bitterness."

I mean probably not. When you have countries banning the sales of petrol/diesel/gas cars from a few years time, there's no alternative. Unless hydrogen becomes more viable but still, that's a green product.

I'm gonna praise them when they start treating all their citizens civilly and when the sheikhs give away their wealth to help.
Not when they give away old shit they don't need.

Nah, I'm with that guy. This sub of so often has shit posted that isn't really uplifting when you think about it.
The sheikhs have so much money, they could provide new housing to all the victims and that'd barely make a dent in their finances.
Instead they just give away shit they don't need anymore to boost their PR somehow.
I know that technically it's a good thing, but I oppose praising low effort "charity" like that.
Yeah, I can give away my old socks with a hole in one of them if there's a sock crisis in town. But I can well afford a few dozen pairs even without going broke, bah, without this impacting my life significantly. Am I really praise-worthy enough to post news about me giving away my old socks on the Internet? I hardly think so.

Maybe its just that the source of our news is slightly biased.
It's always is vs them.
