Now make electric cars cheaper! In my country electric one costs double than regular one, it's ridiculous.

Progress over perfection, even if we end up with a damaged earth it's a hell of a lot better than if we just said fuck it and kept doing what we were doing.

Not really. Ukraine has lost a lot of its power generation, and that alone is enough to account for all the tank diesel and jet fuel and explosions.
Russians were already impossibly wasteful before. Their energy is even cheaper now, but they can't possibly waste more.
War has always helped reduce pollution. Hell, just the act of killing humans reduces CO2.

I work at a company where because of all this carbon footprint stuff we are introducing measures to reduce it, because that's what customers expect of us now. What I'm trying to say is I don't think there is anything wrong with idea of carbon footprint itself, if applied to places where it matters.

Almost every middle/junior high everywhere has grades 6 through 8 now. Some may still buck against the norm, but that is the norm.
And junior highs are shifting into middle schools except if combined with high schools in the same building.

And because it's Minnesota in winter.

Capitalism was the source of this problem. Capitalism is a fucking disease and on our current trajectory will be the cause of humanity's mass destruction in the name of private profit.

Yeah on the ducting and airflow front that is something I've wondered but haven't got far enough to know if I'm good or not. It's a 1,980 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms, 1 per bedroom upstairs and 2 downstairs for even coverage would probably be the move. I'd probably go central if possible but go ductless if I couldn't get the CFM with current ducting.

Not really, because it won't be for long. Gas is now a dead man walking.

And they are adding green power fast. 75% of all new power builds in 2023 are renewables including a massive amount of battery storage.

I’m just north of you and it was amazing how good that new heat pump is now.
Check out multi-head mini-splits too. You can zone your home and have different temperatures in different areas. And it was cheaper than one big unit of the same power.
For my shop a pair of mini-splits was not only more power efficient but it offers redundancy in case one shits the bed. Always have a backup.
For a larger zoned houses, running 2 separate smaller systems means less pipes, quieter outdoor units and better overall system efficiency.
A note about swapping a furnace to a heat pump. Heat pumps need more air flow. The heat isn’t as hot but they make more heat by volume. So that can mean redoing ducting. Sometimes adding a multi head system and programming your old furnace to just act as a fan and stir the air in the house is a possibility. Plus our furnace is now the backup in case the heat pumps go down.

I'm not saying we should accept or justify it, but just understand. They've been punished enough already. If they had succeeded then of course they must be stopped, but that's all hypothetical.
They are all still just very frightened and hurt humans. There is no normal response to such an insane situation.
But I really get what you're saying, I do.

If you just continuously describe things as "even more" whatever, you are going to have a very hard time explaining the real situation to the public.

I could see heavily traumatized, grieving people having lost their own new born child clinging to every bit of (even irrational) hope. And therefore claiming it is their child instead of having to face reality and living with the fact that their own child died or is still missing under the rubble. This is speculative of course but calling them parasites is uncalled for.

That's like the difference of riding a moped into a brick wall at 90 mph as opposed to 150. Capitalism as a system is inherently driving climate change.
Portions of the planet becoming unhabitable isn't progress. Developed countries, despite driving almost a majority of emissions since the 1700's, might be able to get by, but for how long until tens of millions of migrants rightfully seek shelter, how long until wars & civil unrest are sparked over resources, how long until fascists take hold of people's frustrations and turn it against one another? That isn't progress.
