Still require fossil fuels to make to renewables. Shell and BP are the conglomerates. And what's going to happen to them in this lawsuit? A fine they'll easily pay it off and likely nothing will happen.

I find that information manipulation is not only happening right now but can get in my opinion a million times worse in the future. Access to information is great but what if most of that information is wrong.
In my opinion we don't live in the information age we live in the misinformation age.

I have absolutely nothing with getting away from oil. But you literally just said "we should fine oil companies for selling oil" and "we can't ban oil because we need it". See the contradiction? Also, I'm not sure what the crime is. Don't you think we should actually have a statute that we follow, instead of fine companies based on how we feel on Thursday? Rule of law seems to be an importantt concept.

115 dogs?
I mean, with that many animals there is no way they were being taken care of properly...

Lol you’re funny. You think the whole military gives a fuck what one lawyer thinks? Just google all the myriad lawsuits against the US military and you’ll get your answer.
Also, in the US the military has more money than god, they will spend your lawyer into the ground.

According to the article “The legal claim also has the backing of institutional investors and pension funds who together own over 12 million of Shell’s 7 billion shares” - that’s hardly any. In essence the majority of Shell’s investors are not included. One can also assume that since the board was elected by their investors, the majority of investors are happy with the directions unless proved otherwise !

I misread the title and thought it said dodgy daycare and people were celebrating it burning down. I got confused to why there were dogs there till i reread the title.

This is another reason I’d never board my dogs. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard a story like this but they don’t always have good outcomes. Idk why these places don’t have sprinklers . I’d rather have a cold wet dog than a dead dog.

I went on vacation to the beach with my beagle. My husband left the tent early in the morning and drove several miles down the beach to fish. My husband let him runoff and he found my tent in the campground all those miles away in a completely foreign area to him. I just remembered waking up to a bunch of missed calls and texts from my husband saying please don’t be mad but he lost the dog and the dog has somehow let himself into the tent and is sitting next to me. He ran away from his previous owners who abused him, so it warmed my heart to know he was running back to his mother(me).

Have you even heard of the petro-dollar? If you think it's just a "Shell" thing to not care about climate, think again. It's a politics thing. The US economy would simply collapse if all the world started decreasing their fuel use.

A life saved is a life saved human or otherwise. Also , the rescue of that dog will bring some joy and stability to the lives of his/her family in this terrible time.
Yes it's tragic that so many have died, but it's uplifting because a life was saved from that fate.

Yeah, this feels silly to me. They should be protected by their employer unless they actually did something criminal. Otherwise what’s the point of incorporating?
What’s next if this is allowed to progress?
I’m in favor of addressing climate change even if it costs $, but this is an unfair personal attack if you ask me. The end does not justify the means here.
