Dogs don’t smile because they’re happy. They smile because they know it makes US happy. And I think that’s still quite precious.

For those wondering why this is uplifting news, Japanese cost of living has risen. Nintendo is doing this so their employees are still keeping up with the rising costs, which should be bloody normal in every company.
But unfortunately it isn't.

It's not just a PR stunt to all of those people getting a raise.

In this case, the stunt has precedence, with the Japanese Yen changes Nintendo is trying to keep their employees matching inflation rates. Which should be standard.

Normalize raising pay as a result of inflation.

It might be, I’m no expert on Japanese business culture so I can’t say for sure.

I was gonna say. That is the dog equivalent of a customer calling the boss to give props.

Hmm, I expected hydrogen to get adopted by the maritime transport industry before aviation industry.

If I’m ever hiking in a new place, I let my dog pee as much as he wants. I can always whip out a map if I need it, but it’s easier to just let him sniff his way back if I get lost and letting him mark seems to help his sense of direction lol

Isn't that fairly common with Japanese corporations? Isn't the CEO or President seen as the guy responsible for everything so they cut their own pay as a way of accepting that responsibility?

The fact that this was ever even a suggestion is a travesty.

Why the hell you’re are fighting for a country not your own, unless it’s some highly idealistic kind of thing.

Have you ever owned a dog? It's what they do, they never want the walk to end unless it's inclement weather then all of a sudden they're hauling ass to get home.

We can keep these benefits and then quit anytime we want?
Yes. Unless of course, war were declared.

Most (if not all) of those deported committed crimes. When I first read about this years ago the article highlighted a guy who shot up an occupied (including with children) car and he felt he was unfairly deported.

Deportation of veterans is a shameful business. Glad, at least, some finally got their citizenship.
