This is not uplifting news. This is barely news.

How about energy storage capacity?

Not quite, battery storage is feasible and converts solar into a dispatchsble resource that is even better than baseload. You could run solar+batteries as baseload, but it's less desirable than fully dispatchsble.
And as the report says, there's 9.4GW of batteries to go with the 29GW of solar. As more solar is installed on the grid, the ratio of battery to storage will increase, to make sure that the energy is delivered at the right time. But we are in the early days of solar deployment, so not much storage is needed.
So there is a lot of reason for rejoicing at this news.

Not really. The company says that the majority of people buy them for decoration or instruments.

Is the world so messed up this is what we consider uplifting? Yeah right, uplifting me into a doom spiral…

Most panels after 10 years are still outputting at 95%. Keep them clean.

If he doesn't feel safe even in a public library in that community, we (and Alabama) have indeed gone backwards. Is there not a place in Birmingham itself where he could appear during non-school hours and families at least could have the option of going?

As an adoptee, there is a curiosity... Met my bio mom once but not my bio dad yet. I think my adoptive mom feels insecure but I have a natural curiosity. What's wrong with wanting to know where I come from and what my bio parents went through? I don't expect to be best friends but periodic contact would be nice even if sparse... (it has fallen off recently, perhaps this is something I just have to accept.) The world seems to be just chaos, and I'm trying to make sense of it.

What stage of dystopian capitalism is the one where instead of ANYONE with power in companies using an ounce of critical thought to stop stupid policy changes from happening they instead post the idiotic new guidelines on their website, wait for consumers to tell them it’s stupid then delete it and try to gaslight everyone into thinking it was fake the whole time?
Because it’s where we’re at and it is definitely one of the late stages.

Looks like that is approximately correct. Some of that production may be lost to plant activities (to line up with "net generation" definition), so this % may be a bit high, but it is in the ballpark.

People needing to wash clothes by hand is bad.
Amazon is bad.
Neither of these are relevant to the conversation here though.
This isn’t a company providing some altruistic service for the sake of the poor, they are filling a void in the market to turn a profit that happens to help a portion of their customer base. It isn’t evil, people need to make a living, but it doesn’t fall under uplifting news.
