Reach out to the folks at “Skydog Farms” in N. Scituate. They are super friendly and knowledgeable. I believe they operate on only 2-ish acres and have experience w greenhouse & hydroponics, so they might have some good advice. They’re on IG, I’m sure FB as well. Good luck

Call the USDA office and learn about their loan programs. They'll loan up to $600K to a budding farmer and then a bank could cover the rest. I forget the interest rate but it was very reasonable and if you're socio-economically disadvantaged, there are programs available to help offset any losses in the first few years.

Brokers can help because a lot of good deals can be tricky to find online.

You need to be mindful of zoning. Scituate is a very lovely place but I've heard that trying to get building permits or get something zoned for agricultural use if it's not grandfathered in is much more painful than it should be. (This is just an example. Every town has pros and cons).

I would start by researching zoning ordinances in towns you’re interested in. It’ll help you identify where that type of business is allowed, which will narrow down your search before speaking with a realtor.

yeah, most likely the ash car thing was from something much closer (if it even was ash, i only saw the photo briefly before i had coffee and I don't care enough to look it up again). And weird smells can be all sorts of things. That can be filed under shit that happens from time to time in all sorts of random places for all sorts of reasons.

Our brains are wired to link things and create patterns and connections and the modern world of social media tends to feed into that wayyyyy too much.

Thundermist is awful. I booked an appointment for emergency dental work, went there and only got a 5-minute exam where they told me the obvious. Then they booked an appointment to do the work I went there to get six months out. They didn't even prescribe antibiotics so I had to get them from my PCP.

Three days before the appointment day I called because I never got a confirmation call, and they claimed the appointment was cancelled the day it was booked. AND THEN I got a text the scheduled day saying I was late for my appointment.

We were incapable of everything until we did it. People couldn’t imagine an economy that didn’t involved Lords and Serfs yet here we are. Slavery was the only and natural way, until it wasn’t. We still need hierarchies and a system, just saying we can adjust this to create a more reasonable and socially beneficial situation.
