Maybe because they won't know for sure if the contamination comes from the derailment. East Palestine was an industrial town back in the day, so there's probably all sorts of nastiness still around.

>If there are actual, demonstrable issues with our elections in PA that need a constitutional amendment to fix, then for crying out loud show the damn evidence already.
There are no such issues, as even the courts have determined. In 2020 (as well as before and after), PA had a free and fair election with very few issues across the Commonwealth. 2 of the issues were GQP members who voted for their dead mothers. Arrested and slapped on the wrists.

Thanks for the point of view from the America hating traitors. Now tell them to leave the country.

IIRC DEP started doing testing very early on. So I am not sure about the rest of it.

The election integrity folks are only interested in how an outcome affects benedict donald. If he is not crowned emperor then the election is a fraud.
fuck them.

Fact: Senate Republicans are not interested in extending the SOL for sex abuse survivors. They could give a shit, really. They certainly are not interested in compromise.

Money and liability. EPA will force Norfolk Southern to pay for testing. And it looks like they are. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/east-palestine-train-derailment-epa-requiring-norfolk-southern-to-test-for-dioxins/

Guardian published the article yesterday but govt officials last week stated they would be testing. Journalistic malpractice, imho.

The real reason is because they want to increase the voting age, desperately trying to prevent as many people as possible from voting that rightly hold the opinion they are unamerican domestic terrorist worshiping pieces of trash that should be taken out.

Out-dated article. EPA and PA DEP are both running broad spectrum tests on ground and water samples. Ohio may be doing the same.

Because they know that they will find them, but they won't know how to tell the new dioxins from the old dioxins.

I assume it is my only option because according to their website, “if the customer brings/mails their completed form to the Riverfront Office Center in Harrisburg…”. I’ve been on hold with them for about 20 mins so if I get through, I’ll definitely confirm that as well

Is Harrisburg your only option to obtain the placard? I know a few folks who have obtained theirs at closer satellite offices.

No, that isn't true. Free ID is limited to the homeless:
https://www.dot.state.pa.us/public/DVSPubsForms/BDL/BDL%20Fact%20Sheets/FS-HomelessID.pdf
Requiring ID is a form of poll tax. If the IF=D was free to all, that would work. But it isn't.

That isn't what is happening, not at all. All of those would have to be put on the ballot as a package; it's a ridiculous take and is why so little has been achieved by this legislative body. Talk to your Senators, and ask them to disassemble the packaged bill.

Out of date, now. The EPA has ordered testing for dioxins. In order to figure out what is due to the derailment, they'll test areas that weren't affected nearby and compare. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/03/02/epa-dioxin-testing-ohio-train-crash-00085339. So the outcry worked.

Do you know where the office is? I’d be more then happy to make a quick stop at their office and ask. I’ll be driving around Harrisburg all morning. Just depends if my route goes anywhere near there.

Interesting… well it’s still pretty early in the morning. If you aren’t in a hurry, maybe call around 11?

Look for a PennDOT licensing facility closer to you. Call them. More likely to get a human being at the other end of the phone.
