Don’t know why this got downvoted. I work in a state prison, and can assure you there’s nobody in there for weed anymore. That is a leftist misconception. As a matter of fact parolees don’t even get brought back for weed/failing a urine test. The people that belong there are there. The woke DAs aren’t prosecuting violent offenses like they should be. I don’t see how much more we could lower the state prison population without becoming NY or California.

I’m not sure that’s true. Lamb would have been a solid candidate, but Fetterman had the best name recognition statewide, especially once the primary was complete. The margin was slim enough in that race that a candidate change between the primary and general could have made the difference.

That said, the guy you’re replying to seems to think Fetterman had no agency as the duly nominated candidate for US Senate. If he was being pushed to run just to secure a seat and not because of any personal ambition or sense of service, wouldn’t he have already retired and allowed the governor to choose a replacement?

Also depression is a common symptom in stroke victims as they go through the recovery process. No matter if he won or lost, it sounds like he’d be dealing with clinical depression in the aftermath of the stroke.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm kind of with you.

My kid wasn't interested in sports, or choir, or any school clubs or activities. She came home, did her homework, and played Nintendo until bedtime.

But put the idea of actually earning money in front of her, and I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to put in a few hours each afternoon at the register at McDonald's.

If her schoolwork suffered, yep, I'd pull her out of the job. Same as if her sleep suffered, or her mood suffered.

But I don't have a problem with a 15 year old kid working the register (not the fryer or the grill) or washing dishes at McDonald's. Especially if it's her desire to do that, and especially if the parents are keeping an eye on the situation.

yeah maybe just maybe they were.

edit: well, actually:

https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/butler-county-penn-township-house-fire-renfrew-three-degree-road-smoky-porch/

>"The Butler County 911 Center received a call for a porch on fire. It was a two-story log cabin. When units arrived, it was pretty much fully involved. I know there were six occupants in the house," said Cpl. Jack D. Ripper with the Penn Township Police Department.

and then:

Longtime police officer eyes district judge post in Butler County https://triblive.com/local/valley-news-dispatch/longtime-police-officer-eyes-district-judge-post-in-butler-county/

>Butler County native and longtime Penn Township police Officer Jack D. Ripper announced his candidacy Wednesday for district judge in Southeastern Magisterial District 50-3-03. The position is being vacated by District Judge Sue Haggarty, who recently announced her retirement

And it is not all recent! This one dates to 2017:

He is also listed in online white pages as a butler area resident.

So ... Maybe not!!!

I think maybe he even seems to relish that middle initial, heh.

For what it's worth, I tend to agree with you.

I was all for the guy. I was so happy he won.

But I knew that the stroke was not a good omen. I knew that stroke victims are often never the same. I knew that depression and emotional changes often occur.

So I always thought he was headed for worse. I knew it was coming.

It makes it all the more sad, because I really believed in what he stood for, and I was hopeful that he was going to make some great changes.

He still may. But the odds are not in his favor.

“You gotta be ready for battle. So put on the full armor of God. Take a stand against the left’s schemes. Stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist. You will face fire from flaming arrows, but the shield of faith will protect you.”

So they got magic armor kind of like a fantasy character?
