Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter wrote Bird Song about Janis Joplin. You can hear her singing in the background on the original studio version from Jerry's first solo album.

Warren Zevon's "Play It All Night Long", which references Sweet Home Alabama, a song that sounds a lot like one of his songs.
"Sweet home Alabama"
Play that dead band's song
Turn those speakers up full blast
Play it all night long

In Smooth Criminal, instead of “Annie are you ok” I heard “Eddie are you walking, so are you walking, are you walking Eddie.”
I was like 8…

When I was a kid, in the song Love Train, instead of “Tell all the people in Russia and China too” I thought it was “Tell all the people to rush up and shine their shoes”. I sang this fully committed on a road trip and had my Dad dying laughing for about 10 minutes.

Just the story my coworker told me had no reason to question him.
He knew a ton about music and was a bass player in a few bands when he wasn't selling 4 locos to hobos.

Wired are better sounding. Wireless are more convenient. Sound source matters more. If listening to streaming lossy music (eg Spotify) then wireless is good enough since the audio quality isn’t great to begin with. Using lossless streaming service going through a decent DAC then it is a whole other story.
I use Apple Music (nowadays they have at the very least standard lossless sound) together with a Dragonfly DAC and wired headphones. That way I get decent sound while still not adding a lot of bulk.

See also Octavarium [III. Full Circle], which lists far too many references to count.

Bonus to OP too. Southern Rock Opera has a song called Ronnie & Neil. So there’s another song that directly mentions Skynyrd, Neil Young and “Southern Man.”

One of my favorites that fits this would be MGMT - Brian Eno.
"I can tell that he's kind of smiling But what does he know? I will always be a step behind him He's Brian Eno"
