I think the reason it's so good later on is because of the build up through out the song. It's an amazing experience all the way.

Dolly Parton recorded a great cover.
I was also at a show where the band played Stairway to Heaven, but the lyrics were The Ballad of Gilligan’s Island.

The albums disgustingly good. Nostalgia aside its prob one of their best albums yet. They really took what was actually good about their past few albums and mixed it with their original sound and it came out so good in my opinion. Its at least worth a try.

I never listen this song, i like it, you're right, I find both songs a little similar, i find this type of instrumental very interesting.

Another post where the OP just needs attention by asking about what people think about one of the most famous songs ever.

Back in the 70s, the song had a vibe to it that was special. It fit in with the album and you listened to it as it came up after The Battle Of Evermore. As FM radio sprang up, it was a rare occasion to hear it. Now it’s just another over played song . I always saw it as a piece of an amazing album

I thought it was the best song ever made, when I was new to rock music when I was like 15/16...don't get me wrong it's alright but there's much better.

It’s a great song. I’ve heard it a million times in my life and it’s still a great song. The guitar solo never gets old or boring, and the entire song is very well engineered.
