I always think of No Quarter while they're crossing the Pass at Caradhras.

The last part you like wouldn’t make any sense as a stand-alone song. The build is what makes it such a great payoff.

The song came out the summer I read the books. I immediately knew what it was about. Friends who hadn't read LOTR thought I was crazy.

It’s a masterpiece and a classic. Like any song you can listen to it too much of course. Still there’s no denying how great it is.

It is one of those songs that are almost impossible to separate from my teenage years. In the late 70s, early 80s, every school dance ended with Stairway to Heaven.

It's a good enough song but there are other songs and albums that I like more.

Not the best Zeppelin song by far but it's part of my life growing up in the 70s and 80s. Good good stuff.

It's widely regarded as the single greatest rock and roll song of all time and I find that difficult to disagree with. It really captures the essence of the band, the era it defined, and the aesthetic that it gave birth to. The musical progression of the song has been described as 'orgasmic'. When Jack Black created his "Tribute" to the greatest song in the world, it was a musical salute to this song.

It's not rock, but Run with the wolves - Prodigy? It perhaps could be confused with heavier industrial / electronic rock . . .

Ramble On is another great Led Zep song that 100% has LOTR references.
