Plenty of trails near north conway nh, just about 1.5 for you to get to the white mountains from Portland. Dozens of trails off the kankamangus, or at great glen trails, Jackson ski touring snowshoe trails, bear notch if you don't mind paying $25 or so. But some trail heads in white mt national forest are free, or pretty cheap to park at ($5) off the kankamangus.

DOT is paying for that bridge with federal tax dollars. Town revenue has very little to do with it. Occasionally there is a 10% local district match but most projects are 100% DOT funded unless there is a town water/sewer crossing. The towns are responsible to pay for those. Hi friend! I’m in the Cornish area so not near you really but my husband and I also work from home, this is our game plan:

Power out?

• small generator supplies power to 1 room, we basically just use this room to keep our laptops charged up, it also happens to have the router so as long as spectrum is up, we still have WiFi

Internet down?

• we pay for extra data so we can have hot spots and this usually works no issue for what we do (as long as video calls have no camera on)

Both out?

• generator and hotspot

No generator access?

• charge up all your devices and power banks, invest in the best/most powerful ones you can, and use a hotspot!

If it does go out. It will likely not be for long in Saco. Most of the time ,when it's out for an extended period it is in more rural areas.

I live in falmouth foreside, the longest I've ever lost power for is 3 minutes, and that was in 1977.

Expect a minimum if 2 weeks per outage, and in maine they are allowed to charge you for what you would have used had the power been in, and a percentage of what it cost to restore service as well as a requirement to buy lunch for 2 employees.

The answer is to switch motels - a truck engine being too loud on private property is not something the police are going to do anything about.

Not all police stations close at 5. Bangor and Brewer are 24 hours. If it's every night, they can just call to make the complaint at any time.

pretty sure when you call a police station after hours it just puts you through to emergency dispatch…

Call the Jon emergency number at the police department, but let hotel know first so they have a chance to deal with it
