The drivers suck there, too. The last time I went, someone backing into the space behind my truck backed over the line and right into my rear bumper whilst I was in the store. The best part of that was the guy was in a subcompact. He could've stopped a good six feet further forward and still been in the space.

Do they have a computer? I got my kids a microscope that you could hook up to your computer. We spent hours looking at plants and rocks. If that sounds interesting, I can find the brand.

When my boy (also homeschooled) was 10 he just wanted ice fishing traps so I got him 5 from heritage which was 5 years ago.

A chemistry set with a simple microscope was the best gift I ever got. Went on to get. a Ph.D in plant sciences. You never know.

Maybe not from a local store but how about a microscope or chemistry set?

Pubs? Remember Maine had prolonged Prohibition. From 1851 to 1934 the manufacture and sale of alcohol in the state was completely banned. Either you made hard cider or distilled on your farm or you were friends with a Canadian, but no one was riding down to the pub for pints.

Liberty Tool in Liberty - they’ll open for the season the first Saturday in March. Three floors of funky stuff (plus old tools).

>Today most of those businesses are gone but the place names have endured.
Can you provide some examples of where the names of have endured? I'm trying to think of places like "millersville" or something.
>A few still have a variety stores and sometimes a post office.
Don't nearly all towns have a variety store or convenience store and a post office?

Hi- I am planning on driving down from Canada and would like to take the train from Brunswick to Boston. I’m told there is a free parking lot (Park & Ride Brunswick-Cedar St, I believe) and one that costs $2 per 24 hours (Brunswick Station-Union St) Are either okay/safe to leave my car for maybe 3-5 days? Any advice is appreciated!
