Reply to LPT: If you live in an apartment, don't just change your locks. Find a locksmith that can sell you a "key control" lockset. This means that only authorized people can make copies. Apartments will make multiple copies of your keys if they can. by [deleted]
If you live in an apartment you may not be allowed to change the locks yourself. A reputable management company will change the locks between tenants.

This. After a loved one died i realized that we both had a similar casual hobby of artistic photography so there were tons of beautiful pictures of places and things but without them in it... none of them mattered.
In the end it was the selfiies, group pics, tagged pics others took and shared, and action pics and videos, which were hard to find, that our family and friends wanted the most.
I've since started to make sure to include the human aspect including myself into way more pictures.

LPT if you feel that uncomfortable with doing something don't let yourself be coerced or guilted into doing it anyway.

This truly is the worst sub. I have yet to see any LPT's that aren't completely torn apart.

Yes lmao
But seriously - the big reason most people don't make art is because they are afraid of the vulnerability of making something that is going to be judged by others. It's a very vulnerable thing to create something, so every artist, no matter how long they've been making art, has some level of anxiety or insecurity about sharing their art. The only difference between an experienced artist and a newer one is that the experienced artist has slightly thicker skin and more confidence in the value of their own work.

Most people aren't in relationships that are worth repairing anyway, it seems.

Okay so it becomes a matter of opinion as to how significant an improvement it makes. In my field as a piano teacher it‘s essential. For others it isn‘t. Although everyone teaches something to others in their lives…

It’s about the mess they are leaving afterwards. It’s one thing to look through trash, it’s another to rifle through it and throwing the trash on the ground to look deeper into the receptacle

The statistics are not in favor of your opinion on partner relationship repair. Most people do not ultimately work it out and repair it. They may try but it just repeats and often times the drama is amplified eventually

Reply to LPT: In addition to wanting to hire a person who is qualified, hiring managers also want someone they can see themselves working closely with, so don’t forget to bring a good personality too. by NotWeirdThrowaway
While interpersonal skills are important, you’re likely underestimating how much of an impact things other than your “personality” had on those hiring decisions.
This is how unconscious bias is perpetuated into a hiring decision and how some companies (eg in tech) are so full of the same people (white dudes).
As a hiring manager myself, I have to be extremely mindful that “rapport” will be higher with people like me, because that’s how people are. But I don’t want to hire a bunch of nateorades. I want to hire a team with diverse experiences that will be effective at working together and getting the job done.

TRUTH!! I had a very dear friend who was a photographer but hated having his photograph taken.
I had no idea his family had almost no photographs of him until one day they reached out to me and requested permission to use a photograph I had taken of him at the workshop I was hosting. The photograph was the last frame on a roll of Ilford Delta 400 and I snapped it just because.
