but for this relationship it has either ended because you should have ended it or because you shouldn't have.
Either way means that you should not be the one to undo this.
The first because it is the wrong move and the second because your malfunction is not repaired enough to be a fair partner to the person that you ran from.

Because I'm not the most internally/mentally stable and consistent individual and there are certain factors that affect my reasoning and behavior. I guess.
For example, my attachment style is quite clearly avoidant. That means that I deeply crave intimacy, but at the same time distance myself from people when they get too close, like in romantic relationships. I find it very hard to commit, often fixate on the negatives (no matter how miniscule) and so on, if that makes sense.
Basically, I can't fully rely on my "gut feelings" about people because some of my defense mechanisms masquerade as gut feelings.

Actually honesty, done kindly, is the better support. We do not live in a world where you get awards for participation, if someone wants your opinion on something, give them an honest opinion. If they just want praise, then you become part of the problem.

I mean, why can't you just "not feel it"?

Reply to LPT: If you're needing to verify the accuracy of your scale and can't find a nickel close by, just use two pennies, they weigh 5 grams just the same. by KnownEmergency00
All U.S. pennies (1-cent pieces) minted since 1982 weigh either 2.5 grams (0.088 ounces) or 3.11 grams (0.109). The 2.5 grams Lincoln Penny is composed of brass (95% copper, 5% zinc), while the 3.11 grams Union Shield is composed of copper-plated zinc (97.5% zinc, 2.5% copper). All current U.S. pennies have a diameter of 19.05 mm, a thickness of 1.52 mm, and are composed primarily of zinc (97.5%) with a copper plating (2.5%).

Most dumper divers are looking for food, industrial or retail waste.
A Vancouver bakery I once frequented use to put all their perishables into a clear bag and place them on top of the dumpster. That dumpster bin never got raided.
Dumpster divers tend to stay away from dumpsters that contain bad smells or if they knowingly contain any amounts of human feces, syringes, rotting meat, bandages etc.
A bin from a produce store smells like a produce store. A bin from a butcher smells rancid and will never get raided (unless the diver is mentally ill).
Dead fishes smell pretty bad. Rotting potatoes are perhaps the worst. Anything that rots in this manner should detour them if they are sane.

I do the same thing when I give praise to other musicians. I love that harmony line you took, or interesting progression, etc. It really makes the artist feel appreciated. I love when people do it for me. Great tip!

I feel terrible but I hate when people share art unsolicited because I know it normally means they trust me but at the same time if I don’t like something I have a hard time faking it and it makes me feel even worse.

Why would it not be up to me to undo my wrong move, if it was a wrong move?
