That never made sense to me, the RIGHT one has to be dead.
The second someone dies every secret they ever had starts getting out and around cause there isn't any consequence now.

The best solution is never voice an opinion other than the popular one. This will allow you to groom karma and never need to form opinions of your own.
As for fact checking, ignore it. You can find all of the information you need to support your position but just go back to the first sentence of this comment and all will be well.

Never speak to anyone at work. Grunt and growl if someone tries to speak to you.

I found myself engaging in lots of meaningless debates on the internet until I watched a Ted talk about Confucius' Way of the Water. It's highly recommended. I'm in a very stressful place in my life right now, and this teaching is helping me deflect the worst stress since I can't really do much about the things in my life that I don't like.

Working exclusively with co worker on tons of projects. We got to know each other well. During lunch I dropped my guard, we shared a few personal items.
Later found out we run in similar friends groups, I was unaware until my phone popped off with tons of texts from a certain person in this group. Was not a great convo…it became a game of telephone booth with multiple people sharing a worse and worse version of the comment (which was exclusively about me).
Lesson learned. I keep everyone at arms length. No questions.

I wish I'd known that before I'd told old Mrs. Horngus about my crapping problem. Now the whole office calls me "Jimmy Sharter."

Sleep before work. If you work for example 10pm-6am, then stay up after work. Sleep 1pm-9pm.
I've worked many overnight positions and this worked best for me. Its tempting to go to Sleep as soon as you're off work, but you end up sleeping through most normal business hours so it's hard to get things done. Also, I feel it's better to be fresh when you start work rather than starting work after already being up most of the day.
Most people wake up and go to work, then do things after work. You can be the same way. As opposed to waking up, doing things, then going to work.

Also, if someone in your office tells you something just keep it to yourself.

The chances of this happening are very low, but I have the exact same fear, which developed over time. I will do anything to avoid driving over the two highest overpasses in my city.
