I dislike him because he chose to join the military, which I dislike. You cannot be a good person if you join an evil organization. Certainly not when the organization's only purpose is evil, before someone tries to go "but what about Walmart" as if that's equivalent.

Sure thing! I’ll be utilising the knowledge and skills I gained over the years, they haven’t gone to waste.

I’m switching to medical affairs for a pharmaceutical company. I also received offers for management consulting. Any UK medics reading this considering leaving, there are options! Feel free to message if you have questions.

If I had switched earlier I’d have been less burnt out and bitter about my experience and significantly better off financially by now. I never dreamt of one day leaving medicine and I generally try to live a life without regrets, but if I had to pick one it would be applying to medical school. Considering a significant portion of my medical friends have left or are thinking of leaving medicine, or have gone abroad, I think it’s a common sentiment.

For better or worse, this is an area I excel in. I say for worse, because there are times when I have the conversation with my student and the words come out of my mouth, "You wont need this much in real life, but we are going to learn this so you have a full understanding of it."

An example would be in graphing. The most useful way in many situations to graph something, is to use the format slope intercept y=mx+b. Now you could also graph in a point slope form, but it is MOST of the time not as useful, and does not have nearly as many real world applications for the common person.

I think you are right that it takes a lot of skill to break something down and explain it to another person. I do not think however, a person needs to be an expert on every aspect of the subject, to begin teaching it.

When talking about variables in algebra, I explain how variables could be anything and use food and party guests as an example often. "So if we have 16 guests coming, and each guest is going to eat 2 slices of pizza, and each pizza has 8 slices, how many will we need?" I will create a problem, like above, where the answers will be small and with whole numbers to learn. Talk it through logically, then, create the problem algebraically. 16 x 2 = 8x. Then once again, solve the problem step by step.

We require proof for all posts on r/IAmA in order to prevent fictional AMAs from taking over the subreddit. Your proof needs to be something that connects the fact that you're doing an AMA with your identity. This could be something like a photo of you in a work uniform or at a relevant location with a sign that has your username and the date. It could also be documents (partially redacted if desired) with a note that has your username and the date. We're happy for you to get creative with your proof as long as it makes it clear to a reasonable person that the person doing the AMA does meet the criteria laid out in the topic of the AMA.

You can add proof to your post by uploading it to an image hosting site like imgur.com and adding that link to your Reddit post by clicking the Edit button.

If you can't think of a way to prove your claims publicly, you can also submit confidential proof to the moderators at this link, though bear in mind it may take some time to review.

Here's a link to the section of our wiki that discusses proof.

Please edit your post and add new proof, and reply here to let us know. If your post is more than a couple of hours old, it may be more effective to create a new post and include the proof from the start. Thanks!

I don't know if you have been asked this before, but I read in a reply that you have a roomate, so do they like, hear what you say on the calls and they're just chill or are they just not there?

  1. I like splatoon and vampires, hence squidteeth.
  2. I like a classic hamd and cheese for a cold sandwich, or grilled cheese for a hot one.
  3. I haven't seen either if those, but I'll go with the second. It sounds more important
  4. He seems cool. Sad he won't be superman anymore :<

This is awesome and thank you for being so responsive. Considering you've already answered any questions I could think of for your line of work (With the possible exception of one: What's the singular most uncomfortable/traumatic interaction that you have had so far? disregard, you did already answer that), I'd like to ask a few off-topic questions, if I may.

What's the meaning behind your username?

What are your preferred toppings on a sandwich?

Suicide Squad or THE Suicide Squad?

Thoughts on Henry Cavill?

There always has to be a cutoff point! Gross those people world resort to that type of thing, those positive reviews would not be worth the hassle of dealing with people like that.

I hope you do the best in the field! Sounds like you have it pretty under control!

What do you look at while talking? Are you browsing the internet? Do you wander around aimlessly, picking up random objects?

I find it awkward enough talking on the phone because many people don't speak loudly enough. How do you deal with having to ask someone to repeat themselves?
