That’s not a valid reason for not having a union. Our local Starbucks is union, in an “at will” state.
The reason everyone wasn’t fired is community support. This a liberal town and if Starbucks fired the union employees, no one would buy coffee there again. I guess in Texas, people would be like “you shouldn’t have formed a union” if you got fired?

Those soundtracks are so wonderfully inventive.

How do you compose? Do you simply sit and try form a melody, or is there more to it?

I don't know if this has ever really happened to you, but imagine that you're at a function where you're speaking to someone with no comprehension of classical music apart from "that ringtone that goes dun dun dun dun daaaa". When that person asks what you do, how do you explain it?
Bonus question: how do you explain it when you want to get them excited or share the intricacies of your job?
Bonus bonus: what is the really nerdy detailed thing that you're excited about that you wish people would ask about?

The lack of musical instrument instruction in the elementary schools is so sad. Getting past that first year is hard — and starting that in middle school makes it even harder.
Definitely look into a music school that can give your guy a ‘tour’ of instruments.

> I would guess that it's more likely they are improvising.
A tradition that began with the Baroque, that is to say, as old as orchestral performances. Virtuosity is rarefied air and a wonderful thing to experience.

I find I get the most bicamerality from my hands when I stop thinking about it. Just a piece of music and an empty mind.

Has anyone ever blown a big snot down their face while blowing a horn of any kind? Seems like a case of the sniffles could end pretty badly.

How does the city of Philadelphia inspire you?

Yeah, our area is heavily anti-union, pro-corporate. I can see why you think it’s not a valid explanation, lol. Our city is just not super supportive of the Union ideals.
