I agree with this method. Surprisingly I have written a list in the form of questions to remind myself how unhappy I’d be if I went back. So I recommend others in my current situation to give that a try as well to reinforce the change, because it will be very tempting to find those old comforts again.

It's ups and downs. Not everyone goes thru the same hardships and awful things in life but it's our job as fellow humans to respect stand up for and be there for the people that have been disrespected, hurt, and traumatized by life.

What about children who get raped? What lesson did your god want them to learn? And what about animals who die horribly in wildfires? Wildfires are natural, so why is there so much needless suffering? Your "divine order" doesn't seem very fairly ordered.
