Lost my job… company fucked me out of my apartment lease I owe, and my mileage. Thought it was a good thing as I get to return home from being on the road six months to be with my wife and get a new job to be home. She texted me on my dead brothers b-day to not come home because she plans on filing for divorce the next week. Turns out she has been cheating on me with my friend that she would have never met if not for me. This all happened within a week. Really needing that good shit right now….

I feel like I’ve been waiting for years for something good to happen. I’m getting sick and tired of doing everything I can, just for nothing to happen for me.

Thanks struggling with the conflict of separating or staying with my husband, and having back pain.

Ironically, smooth seas is what separates the good dingy sailors from the average dingy sailors in competitions.
Everyone can go quick when the wind is constant, but finding wind when there seemingly is none takes real skill.

I'm in the process of quitting, almost 2 weeks smoke free. Did it cold turkey, first three days were atrocious until the nicotine was out of my system, but I found flavored gum helped and playing puzzle games on the phone whenever I felt a craving kick in. And try to avoid putting nicotine back into your system via patches or gums, it'll just make the process much harder and longer. It's okay to crave it, but remember that you didn't actually enjoy smoking, it was just a habit that you can shake off.

I bought a new car and stopped that day. I didn’t want it to smell like smoke & have been wanting to quit for over a year. This is the same as change your path to work, don’t sit in the same chair outside, etc.

I read that as "A smooth sea never killed a sailor", wondering how that is motivating 😂

Thank you. I’ll try to believe every word of this, but I’m currently struggling with suicidal ideation…

Being human is so weird, we are super evolved creatures capable of so much, yet we are fragile and unstable to our very core. But every day is good if you love, even if that love isnt another person, it maybe a pet or a sport, or a science...

I switched from smoking cigarettes to using nicotine pouches, specifically “On” pouches because they were the cheapest. I will have been quit for a year next week. I’m still addicted to nicotine obviously but the pouches seem much less harmful than cigarettes and I feel much better physically and don’t stink anymore. Next step is quitting the pouches I guess.

I wonder, if Einstein had access to the internet, would he have achieved even more or wasted his life on Reddit?

I can’t think of anything good that’s happened when I’m at my lowest. There’s no, something good. It’s just not as bad. Been waiting.

I used to work at a ski resort and would always be disappointed when I was around newcomers to the sport viewing being a novice as some embarrassing thing. I love it when I see someone throwing all their attention into learning something and having fun doing it. And also learning the most important thing in the sport and life: how to get back up!!!
I have such profound respect for the enthusiastic learner.

A ship is safe in harbour, but that is not what ships are built for.
