I have to say that I enjoyed reading this. I totally talk myself of things all the time. This made me want to creat my own “friend” to use as part of a lesson I am writing called “I Can”.

The issue is man is too stable. He is getting dragged along by the wagon and no longer cares. The choice is run along or be dragged (homeless/out the system) humans crave innate human fulfillment not provided by basic jobs.

Acknowledge bad thoughts, reject them, and replace them with good thoughts.
there are different ways to do it. Personally I picture my bad thoughts as a physical object. I then visualize putting those bad thoughts into a locked safe, and then throw that safe into the sun. If they come back, I do it again.

I know. I’m extremely grateful for what I have. Just starting to get over the trauma of the divorce with a ton more knowledge and insight since. I’m still pessimistic about the dating angle but Im planning on working on it.

I’m definitely grateful for what I chose occupationally and it’s better to have “existential” problems than “real” problems like not have enough money for food or housing.
I do regret my marital choice though. The biggest hardship I came across in my life was my divorce and although obviously I wish it didn’t happen, there was some value in the failure and perspective change from it.
I think the people who rise from true hardship and then become successful are the happiest people I know.

Yes, his regular comic is called Subnormality, and he used to illustrate for Cracked under Abnormality, It's all under a blanket of Virus Comix. His (pen) name is Winston Rowntree, I highly recommend looking him up.

I have never written fan mail to anyone in my almost 40 years of existence: despite absorbing a ton of media, never written a favorite author, director, musician, actor, anyone. Until I read this specific comic (it's from Subnormality by Winston Rowntree), and I wrote him an e-mail letting him know that a lot of his work really resonated and helped me, inspired me, and sometimes just entertained me.
I highly recommend you check out his other stuff, but be forewarned: although he's a webcomic artist, don't expect many three-panel jokes and the like; each one is more like a short play or novella, so you have to strap in.
Edited to add: I actually bought of poster of this and have it on a wall of art I love. It's a nice daily reminder.
