Yes, it's a conversation between Alice and the Mad Hatter I believe.

Edit:

I went looking for a reference and couldn't find one. It turns out it's not from the books at all, but from the Tim Burton film version, and is a conversation Alice has with the Mad Hatter, which she is paraphrasing something from a conversation with her father.

Truthfully, I just signed up for the headspace app and did that until I felt like I had the hang of it. I found a buddhist organization that did free yoga classes and always had an option to stay for meditation afterwards. That was huge for me. There are certainly TONS of good stuff on Youtube, I’m sure. r/meditation may be of more help to you. Hang in there, friend.

Running without food extinguishes life faster, instead we gotta eat, to eat we need money, to get money we need to work, to work we need to educate and learn, to learn we have to be able to keep our minds healthy, to stay sane we try to have fun.

Nowadays having fun often costs money since were too developed and lazy to have fun through the scarcity of things, so were stuck in a loop, where no outcome except for a few individuals results in running to dreams.

Tl;dr Cant run if next-gen advanced video-game invisible walls are there.

You can’t feeeeeeel your way to discipline. You just do it no matter what. Some days you want to but most days the brain will try to convince you there are a million other things you would rather do. It wants the path of least resistance. I tell my self I have to go and get on a machine for 15 minutes no matter what. If I still feel low energy or not well, then I bail. Most of the time it is just getting in the door and then I’m so glad I went. Motivation is a lie. It takes discipline and mental discipline to stop thinking you are going to feeeeel motivated.

As someone with OCD, who has been suffering from it, for over 30 years now, this is definitely a powerful thought.

I genuinely feel that my OCD is ruining my daily equality of life. I also believe that the frequent and intense stress, anxiety and anger that it has caused me, has probably taken years off of my life, because of how taxing it has been. Basically, I believe that OCD has literally given me brain damage.

And I am fully aware that it is completely irrational and illogical. I fully acknowledge that it doesn't make any sense and I completely realize that nothing about it, is reasonable. Yet, I just can not seem to break the habits and to get myself to stop thinking the way that I think, throughout every day of my life.

It is a truly exhausting, miserable, incredibly fucking frustrating way to live.

Motivation comes from changing things too, giving yourself something different to look forward to trying. Also seeing results, obviously. You can plateau walking a mile every day for a month and not lose anymore weight (assuming you’re eating a balanced diet). Do 10 minutes of google searches on intervals, different sets to reps, maybe try the stationary bike or elliptical tomorrow.
