My girlfriend took her life at the end of December, I hear things like this from people all the time. I guess I'm handling it well? To be honest with though it's all in appearances, in my head I'm constantly at war.

I have almost no electrical knowledge but I think "earth" or "earth ground" would imply that wire is connected literally to the earth at some point, e.g. in home wiring there can be a copper rod driven deep into the earth that all the "ground" wires are connected to, making those earth grounds?

I think the word "ground" by itself is often just used to refer to the common (shared) part of a circuit, eg. on an arduino there's a ground (GND) pin that's obviously not connected to the earth, but used as a shared source of "lower electric potential" for all parts of the circuit to use to create the difference in potential required to have "voltage"

Why OP says there is an earth wire in the picture and not just a ground, idk. Those 3 wires could easily be used for something that has no earth ground. Maybe the color scheme of those 3 wires is a standard one and the green usually is earth ground? No idea. Maybe there's just different terminology standards than I'm aware of and in the shitty hobbyist world I live in we all use the words wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This will probably be me lol. We just had some snow so it’s crazy cold, but it should be warm enough by Monday so I just gotta make myself stick with it consistently. I’ve told myself once a week is enough of a minimum to start just so I don’t lose motivation but I’ll aim for more often, we’ll see.

Yeah you’re absolutely right. My mind is a fairly negative place to be sometimes and I know I’ll go through rough times again, I just have to remember during those times that things can and will get better :)

Not to sound insanely cheesy, but life is beautiful and there’s always hope even if it doesn’t always seem that way.

This jumps right to doing. Unrealistic without the dreading and procrastinating.

Live, Neutral and Earth, turns out learning is the most dangerous out of them all

Running through the woods on a full moon lit night through fresh snow used to be my favorite thing to do, the cold was so invigorating. Summer has its perks too, but something about a night run in sparkly, undisturbed snow.... Thanks for this post OP. I THINK you got me motivated to try again.

That is too much for one year. I am heavily overweight and I put more weight on than you, but that took two decades (even with a very bad diet). I recommend that you visit a doctor to see if there is something wrong.
