Who said anything about giving up goals? The meme is about expectations.

You can want to find a partner, you can try to find a partner, but if you expect to find a partner, as if the universe somehow owes it to you... well, that's setting yourself up for a lot of unhappiness.

I think we can afford to fix substantially more problems than we even try to, and eliminating the corrosive effect of profit-driven enterprise would go along way toward doing that, as would eliminating the very possibility of the ultra rich. Most people have no concept of how rich a handful of people are, for the same reason they can't quite grasp the size or age of the universe.

I love this. Every year if you are looking back at yourself from one year earlier, you shouldn't be looking at the same person. Sometimes I change so much I don't even recognize my previous self. And I don't mean my appearance at all, mostly the way I think, the knowledge and skills I've worked on / gained, ideals I've abandoned or taken up. It can be a negative graph over time but once you start figuring things out the upwards gains are inevitable. I love "your eyes are here" part and youll be true, it is always easier to fall than it is to keep grinding but if you stay true to the course then nothing but death can stop you when your eyes are on what you really want. Thanks for this

You can find sources saying it was one or the other, it's a debate overall. My opinion is that what they built is not an airplane. Imo, it changes based on the definition of an airplane, clearly stating it has to be powered or propelled, where the Wrights only took inclines or pushed it themselves, not actually propeling through air, as Dumont did. Thus me saying they built a paraglider, not an airplane.

Yes I did, thanks!
