I'm not sure, and this one is a bit hard for me as I am trying to figure it out. Perhaps it is the journey of growth that is the fulfilmentâboth positive and negative emotions may be involved, but they are not the all-encompassing thing. Maybe this is what they mean when say it's not about the destination but the journey.
You could probably apply this to life too, and not worrying about your own inevitable deathâbut rather what happens between

Thank you.
One last clarifying question if you don't mind.
So "fulfillment" isn't an emotion, but more like state of mind that must be cultivated and maintained to produce positive emotions?

Also, rabbits don't eat carrots their bodies are built to eat leafy greens, so the one with more leaves will probably have a better meal

This is one of those annoying life "advices" that assert that you need some nebulous skill to live, but gives no clue whatsoever of how to acquire this skill, or what it is.

Any inch of progress you make is a step away from your former self, even if it's minute. Take notice in anything that you consider to be positive progress and make it re-affirmingâand setbacks are things that are temporary and you can bounce back from.
It's also not a fake it till you make it if you are constantly making itâand there really isn't an ultimate stage or end goal, because that would imply that you can lose it after achieving it (if that makes any sense).
I guess to answer your question, it is not automatic but a conscious decision you make that needs to be nurtured.

The âworldâ or âothersâ is the collective conscious and unconscious âmindâ - the mind is actually one, weâre all (relative) aspects of the universal (absolute) mind. So, when you assert yourself on the world through activities, youâre essentially telling the world what you are and defining your ego boundaries, what separates âyouâ and âotherâ. If you have âweakâ ego boundaries (mental, psyche), and fail to assert yourself on the world, the âotherâ egos/minds who have a stronger sense of âselfâ will project what and who you are onto you through having already defined who and what they are.

But can there be fulfillment if one does not notice the progress, not that there isn't any.
But how does fulfillment work or how can it be recognized?
Is it innate thing and comes automatically? Does it have to be nourished? Or is it fake it til you make it thing?
Not that I'm questioning the original motivational quote. I just tend to question the human condition to get a better understanding.
