Imo because it makes the average person more likely to actually finish the book. I think if you are determined to finish the book regardless, reading is better. Especially in this case, because it's a book you'll want to reference for a while as you learn to implement this knowledge.

Absolutely. I wonder the same. After having kids of my own and making my own mistakes...I can say that at the very least...nothing I ever did to my kids could be construed as depraved predatory psychological torture, premeditated aggravated assault with a weapon.

Yea I feel like the more motivating image would be to show both people at the end showing how both consistent and inconsistent efforts can get you to the same goal
