Progress is never always up. It should look like the left but slowly going up more than down over time.

The idea behind this is true and sound, but the way the green arrow was drawn is just stupid. The green arrow doesn't have any steps backward in it at all, it just has side steps and upwards. We all know that there's steps backward during growth.

No dead serious. If it's on a type of material that dry erase marker would typically come off i.e solid surfaces etc even a dry erase board. You can let sharpie dry on it and then color over it with dry erase and it wipes right up. It will make you smell like a high-school locker room but spraying axe bodyspray over permanent marker can get it off to lol
