This gave me all the feels. As an Educator it's easy to get caught up in the bureaucracy but these are the moments we live for.

I always run in to this at work. Job is heavily commission and bonus based so I've always busted my ass to do the best I can. But quotas are based on past performance to an extent, so when increase how much I choose to do it increases how much I have to do. To the point that now I'm stuck working 60+ hour weeks and spending 100 nights a year in hotels because I have to instead of because I want to, instead of being able to get away with 10-15 hours fewer when I feel like it. Shit really sucks

I was drinking 3 handles of vodka a week for most of my 30's...I'll be 9 years with no booze this April. It keeps getting better and better. You can do it - don't look back!

I am a good mom, I really am. My daughter is very bright, honour roll most of the time. Her grades started slipping a bit and I had to admit it was as much my fault as hers. I had just 'let her go', thought she'd be fine. Well surprise to me, she thrives on encouragement and needs guidance. They need you. Kids need you.

Consistent effort is important to change. Habits aren’t really habits without that.
Progress is a consequence of that, and it’s a lot less consistent. You try and fail and find new and better ways of getting progress for the effort you put in.
The key is that progress doesn’t come without effort. Sometimes it doesn’t come with effort, but never without. And that’s ok. Progress is not as predictable.

Nonsense!
Money, connections, and dad can't give you an edge over people without those.
Those people, well not people..., are irredeemable garbage that "chose to be destined" to fail of their own free will.
If you are fuming at this point, I'm joking.
Rich kids have it so hard, and are so brave and heroic, screw poor people. Effort my ass, money makes right!
