Ironically the left image is much more how progress actually happens, with consistent effort

It's not that I was worried about something. Rather I just didn't feel like doing it yet.

Once I pick it up though. I then have a tendency to not stop until it's done. To the point where I would forget about everything else. Even food. I will only take a break when my hands starts shaking due to hunger or when I'm already too tired.

I wonder if it's just encouragement or this engaging with specificity as encouragement so a child can build an association between what they did with positive interactions . "When I draw it makes the babysitter happy and they play with me in a fun voice".
As opposed to "when I draw I am praised and called talented".

Basically focusing on how the child makes people feel instead of just how good or skilled the child is.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is depressing rather than motivating, at least to some. Basically, if consistency is hard to maintain, regardless if it is because of outer (jobs, tragedy) or inner (ADHD and other psychological or physical issues) influence, you're basically fucked.

Yeah - it's the same here in the UK: policy makers are not interested in the population's health (the current corrupt UK regime are interested only in either feathering their own nests, serving their far right paymasters or both).

We will need major political changes i.e. such that politicians actually serve the electorate, rather than themselves, to establish smart systems and processes for our wellbeing provision. In the meantime, those who can st have to keep on keeping on doing the best the can.

Hey the left is a good representation of ADHD. Basically being unable to make consistent progress.

Love this. Reminds me of the “plateau of disappointment” James Clear talks about in Atomic Habits.
