Only somewhat a true vacuum. A true vaccine has truly nothing in it — no matter, no dark matter, no quarks. But this was a good effort.

Agreed. The premise of this question is absurd, because there are too many unknowns, and there's no such thing as complete or guaranteed safety. The best place to be is going to vary a lot based on what kind of catastrophic event happens first, how the world responds to it, and on an individual level, what sorts of hardship you're willing and able to ride out.
Even you identify some r/RemotePlaces where a person like you would thrive, and is likely to be less hard hit by any of the likely apocalyptic scenarios, the problem then becomes that you certainly won't be the only one headed there. Costs of living and competition for basic resources will skyrocket.

You're probably right but who's ai? If the AI has come from a different country i.e. North Korea or Russia, OK they may not be there yet, but if it did come from those sort of countries, there's going to be a problem.

I bike in -25*C for more than 10 km per day... when the road is plowed it is not difficult at all. People are just weak

>Imagine the implications for things like space travel if you could siphon power off a few stars and power an absurdly large thruster, without the weight penalty of carrying all of the fuel.
Oh, it means much more than that. Again this depends on whether or not I've understood the article correctly. But if it does become possible to extract energy, from a vacuum, where said energy originally comes from "somewhere else", i.e., somewhere else in the same universe...then fuel itself becomes obsolete.
If you could convert said extracted energy into electricity or hot gases, you could have:
-
Electric road vehicles that never need replacement batteries or charging.
-
Aircraft and jet engines that never need fuel.
-
Virtually unlimited supplies of electricity for residential, commercial and industrial purposes. Including 3-d printing.
-
Virtually unlimited supplies of high-voltage, high temperature arc furnaces to safely incinerate regular garbage and many kinds of hazardous organic waste.

Yeah precisely. I’m not choosing to bike in the cold when I already own a car.

I mean, compared to European sedans of the time it was an enormous car. More like driving a living room around, basically. I don’t see any trouble fitting 7 people into that thing. Might not be road legal though.

Old people, people with disabilities, people with small kids, people with special needs, etc.

Grabbing energy from somewhere else, while being universaly quantum entangled, can lead to all sorts of potential issues, for one, we have no idea, what happens if we try to pull that energy from a star, or better yet, from a collapsing one.
Control is merely an illusion in this part of physics we have no idea still how it works

Have two batteries, one at home being trickle charged by solar panels and one in the car being used. Make battery swapping easy to do and just swap them every night.

Because you americans are all a bunch of wusses who cant even be bothered to duck a little when getting into a car, let alone travel further than a few meters from your home without one.... I use my bike 365 days a year, from -20 to 30+°C and its perfectly fine.

This makes space fule obsolete. You don't have to carry energy with you.

The USA is peerless as a place to be rich. It's an increasingly hellish place to be poor.
