A random individual killing another individual is a bit different from mass produced seek and destroy assassination drones controlled by authority.

I cannot deny that there is an upward trend towards universal alignment on some goods. The tricky part is making sure we don't equate universal agreement on what is good with what is good and so ought to be universally agreed to. If we reduce universal morality to just consensus without clearly defining what the good is, we could see universal agreement around things that may not actually be good in the future, especially if there is a reversal of democratization, access to education, and higher standards of living that contribute to certain goods being adopted over others.

I respectfully disagree with one of your points. You say there will be no effect on the Earth's rotation if the magnetic pole shifts. I feel that there is quite a bit of "new magnetic" material on earth that was created during the current pole locations. These magnetic rocks in the crust have a polarity, when the core's magnetic field changes, I feel that the portions of the crust that have magnetic material in them will seek to realign with the NEW N-S orientation causing the earth's crust (or sections) to move.

True, If it ever happens in our lifetime I hope to be outside when it does and I want to be wearing a parachute!!!! I don’t think it would matter though as gravity will go all wonky too I believe along with destabilisation of the atmosphere so oxygen evaporating into space, violent volcanic eruptions from major shifts in the tectonic plates, and huge Big Kahuna waves travelling half way around the world!!!! Be cool as to watch from a space ship!!! Sad AF though

The idea sounds wonderful, however i feel that such a body would be an embodiment for a totalitarist scarecrow - "anything that doesn't comply to our best nation's sacred tradition is a rotten progressive effort to eradicate our identity"... Eastern eu (and seemingly uk) governments get a wonderful piece of the vote pie with this rethoric, only the boogeymen are progressive and mostly reasonable EU institutions. Enough to say that lawful and peaceful foreign institutions make the best beating boy, as they by default do not fight back..

Fellow self taught dev here. You should already be prepared to spend your entire career continuously learning new skills. Coding will get easier, but that just changes the scope of what the role of developer includes.

Worrying about the future does not change it. We do have the power to change the world positively through our contributions to humanity through code. Be the change you want to see blah blah.

Yes. You notice how I cleverly added "ignoring the time factor". There are near Earth asteroids, but I don't know the density or types. In today's world you can't make an investment with a 45 year payback.

If we could develop vehicles that didn't need low-energy orbits we could.. but that takes a space infrastructure that would take the resource we need. It's a total bootstrap problem.
